Main character Concept suggestions ideas welcome

HEY! it's me again
well i know strated working on my main character ( I didn't wanted him to look like squall )here he is!
I't suposed to be for a game which takes place in a futuristik but medieval (don't know if you get the pont) Age.
comments and ideas please go ahead!

He looks very good, but his face is kind of smudgy. I can't see eyes or a mouth.

If I may say that: It would have been better if you'd posted this character in the other thread you made.

hehehe thanx for the advise!I'm new in the forum I need to get used to it :)!
The face is that way because I like a lot the charakters in  KQ5 and KQ6 kinda you now that there are eyes and mouth but you can't realy see them

I can't see the images, which is no wonder since you've hosted them on geocities.
Use e.g. http://imageshack.us (after uploading, the last one is the direct link), and don't use jpg nor bmp.
PNG would be the best choice, but GIF is fine, too for low-color images.

Man, that's sweet.   :)

The "no face" thing bugs me a bit too, though I guess it's a question of whether you want the character to be able to emote via facial expressions, or whether you'd prefer them to be more of a cypher for the player to project themselves onto.  It'd be a shame to waste that great pic of his face though - maybe include a closeup shot during dialogs?  Either way, excellent sprite.

It's an amazing sprite but the face (or lack thereof) was really annoying me, so I did a quick edit, hope you don't mind.

his neck looks a bit squashed to me, there could be an extra row of pixels in there, or maybe just give more form to the collar.

HEHe! about the face it's a matter of style, the non face thing was actualy what I was looking for , and there for when the character is talking a speech portrait apears I'm going to post it so you can suggest something about it, and about the neck it's suposed to pe like a turtle neck but open in the front don't know if you understand meXD! thanks anyway for the sugestions,
And about the high res game for next time i will concider it but on this computer i can't it's verryyy old and doesnt run well with higher resolution, XD jeje well thnx!

i totally understand the high collar coat and i also believe that if you were to put more facial features in there you would have to change your art style completly.Ã,  I say stick with it and i wanna buy that jacket dammit

Conceptwise it is very good. Simple yet effective, with some props to define the character. When it comes to the sprite, I can see what you strife for with the face, but Mr Flibble showed with his edit, you can increase the contrasts without ruining the vagueness of said sprite. the face's shape however is not that much like that of your concept. Maybe define the chin somewhat further, or remove one pixel in the sprite width. Either way, a very solid piece of work.

(you could work on the posture in your concept though, but it is good in the sprite :))

i've allready modified the posture of the character, but i'll stay with the face, because with this high contrasted eyes and stuff it kinda looses realism, thanx anyway

With careful color selection you should be able to hint at more form than there is now. I'm not going to tell you what your sprite should look like though. :)
