Title: My try at ben's art style
Post by: Icey on Fri 07/01/2011 22:23:09
I have started a new game! But got stuck with a background style. I asked ben if he could help but I had forgot he was already working on a game. He gave me a link to his Drawing background topic and I came up with this.

Can someone give me tips on how to get closer to ben's style?

That's pretty good. Very close to his style and in fact, I think I like this better than your previous works. Much better in my opinion! The door is off perspective though.

Thanks. I just had an idea btw. I thought about mixing my style with Ben's to make every thing easier. I think want people to vote on it. +1 for mix -1 for Ben's style.

The three main things I can think of are you should smooth out the highlights on the sidewalk, definitely try it at standard width, and make the door not look like it was designed for Big Bird.

Other than that, It's actually very good! It's a good composition and has one of the better trees I've seen.
