First off, it's a nice sprite, with good animation.

Unfortunatley it looks like Mr. Ninja is skipping instead of running. While running, your legs don't jut out in front of your body like that. My suggestion would be to run around alot, and try to just watch your body. This will hopefully help you to get more of a running sprite.

It's not a realistc running cycle, but if you're going for a comical/cartoony game I would defenitely use it.

you should bend the upper part of the legs some more, and the lower part abit less.

Btw, nice animation, I couldn't have done better ;)

I think his back is too straight while running. I know that if I'm running, I tend to bend a bit forward. Well, at least when I run fast ::)

EDIT:
If this is meant to be a comical run, I suggest that his back bends backwards!
Like this:
=O
=<\-´
=,>\.

As it was said, not very realistic, but funny :)

The new run cycle is far more realistic (if that's what you're going for) and will be much better suited to a Ninja.

Are you going to do an animation for the 'Ninja Stealth' mode.  Where he is like crouching and sliding across the ground?  That'd be sweet!!

And, as we all know, Ninjas are cool!

The new runcycle definatley looks better, and more realistic. Can't wait to see it with details and shading!

just on running, they don't necessarily lean forward that far, if you notice sprinters almost look like they're leaning back (still pretty upright), with their chests out, heads up and bum back. Leaning that far forward looks like a struggling runner running out of breath, or he's about to fall over forwards, or about to cross the finish line.

I think it's more to do with the arms and legs, from your first attempt, unless you're going for an uncoordinated look.

I like the second one a lot.  The first kinda looks like a puppet who can't quite reach the floor.  :P  I think the second animation, although not entirely realistic, displays more "speed" in the action, even though the image is staying in one place.

Your second animation is totally awesome, massive improvement over the first.

I can't believe the same person animated those two :)
Way to improve!

I guess running through the house like an idiot and watching my own body did work out. Ow...and spending a bit more time on an animation is a good idea...the first one took me about two hours...the second about two nights...

It was 2 nights WELL spent!!

Awesome job!

The hood bounces, the whip flows, just a great job!

I'm really looking forward to Crossroads!

Veeeeeeery nice indeed!!!

One crit: the loop seems to jump a bit. I guess you have more frame/smoother animation for the first half of the loop than the second half, as it looks like his right arm swooshes back too fast (thus making the loop jump a bit).

You animation now is "merely fantastic". Add one or two frames to make the end of it smoother and you'll have perfection.  ;)

Besides crossroad I'll be doing the gfx for a platform game engine a friend of mine is coding, that's what the ninja is for...So to bad...there won't be ninja's in crossroad...But hey there will be pantomime players in crossroad !!
As for crossroad progress...I think I'm about 70 % ...But it's realy nice to hear people are allready interrested in playing it...

Anyways....Cheers!
