Title: Some of my videogame moooosic
Post by: MMMorshew on Wed 28/04/2010 17:46:21
I have been writing videogame music since quite a while that I would love to put into a game I will maybe make with AGS.
Of course I also write traditional music, but I think music for videogames would fit better into an adventure game forum.
I also want to say that none of those songs are finished.

Feel free to listen to some of them and please tell me your opinion. (=

Those 3 midis were originally intended for a Doom-like shooter. That`s why they are very fast and straight-forward.

Action 3 (http://www.mediafire.com/?mtjdy2wkadr/)

This one was inspired by Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. I tried to make it sound very dark and athmospherical. Just imagine you are Indy and discover an ancient grave.

This one could be heard during some kind of creepy voodoo ritual or something.

I composed this one after playing some King`s Quest. Just imagine a huge giant stomping towards you.

Those would fit right into some kind of cozy little pub like in Quest for Glory.

This was supossed to be a theme song for a game. The melody could still be improved, it sounds too unstructured in my opinion.

I would like to use this as a theme song for an old, senile and quirky wizard.

I think it sounds good, really nice retro feeling. Don't really have much c&c to offer, just keep up the good work

Thanks a lot.  ;D
The retro feeling is something I want to achieve with those midis. I think they have a special charme that modern videogame music can`t recreate.

Edit: I fixed the broken links. Mediafire seems to have some strange issues right now.

I thought the drums in the first couple of midis sounded a bit too loud but other than that I have no complaints. I liked them!

I don't know why, but I couldn't get any of them to play.  I have plenty of midi, and they all play, as do all other sound files on this computer.  What did you create these with?

Well done. I especially like the Theme Song, makes me want to make a game to fit with that theme song. The Wizard is also super.

I agree with Pablo regarding the bit frenetic drums, but it fits with what you made it for, so...

I think you have a real talent to adapt your style to the theme you're going for, and also, you don't use the same MIDI instruments repeatedly.

You've got a great future here!  :)

@Xellie
Thanks so much!  :D
My only problem would be that I am not able to finish to finish one single song.  ;)

@theRedPress
I created them in Guitar Pro 5, which can create normal midi files to play the notes I made. I have no idea what could have gone wrong.
