Hi!

Nothing more to say, I made some intro backgrounds which I wanted to show you. It's a bit more cartoonish than expected, but please just tell me what you think of it.

They are wonderful!

If the second shot has a fire going, I would hope that there is a flickering type of shadows that play on everything around it, such as the tree bark, and the tent... as getting lighter and darker, to co-incide with the fire intensity.

Lovely work. Team up with someone who can code and write stories, or if you can do that yourself, you'd be unstoppable.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

Really great work!

The style reminds me so much of Day of the Tentacle, and in my books, anybody that can successfully emulate that style is a true artist.

Well done!

Thanks! It's good to hear you like it. It was a funny thing how I got this style. I started out with something like the older lucasArts games were designed (mi2, foa etc...). I always liked this realistic way of pixel art, but my attempts were way too dark/light (They used a very complicated lightning in those backgrounds), so I decided to give the cutscenes are more comic-like style. The concept art I made for the pictures posted above were done in less than three minutes, with an enormous lack of detail, but after colouring the whole thing I almost jumped out of my socks for getting such a picture out of them, and all this in less than half of the time a 'realistic' picture took until completition.

Sadly, I've tried that a million times, but I experienced that it's very hard to find a team that is seriously interested in making an adventures.... I'm fairly advanced in programming, as well and I've always had a special favour for making music, but - just to be honest to myselft - it is too much work for a single person...
