Just some drumming, improvising some double kick beats, listen to the fill about half way through.

Also, here's me and some mates improvising some riffs together. I'm doing vocals here not drumming.

Very nice, you'd be in my band instantly. :)

Of course, the recording quality isn't quite top-notch (mostly obvious in the second half after your fill with the volume fade-ins/outs and the MSN noise in it ;) ), but your playing seems spot-on.

You should vary time-signatures though - how about something in 7/8 or 5/4? :)

thanks Dkh, simple 4/4 is what I'm used to and apart from 16 beat there's not a lot else i do. I've been playing 4 years or so but i still haven't had my first drumming lesson, so my technique and theory is pretty messy.

Also, it was recorded using the video function on my digital camera and then i used audacity to record wave out from the video, hence the 'hardware unplugged' noise.

I thought I heard that :P

Anyway, sounds good!
made me want to record some drums and post here! lol.

Call me indie-pop, but I don't like dubble base kicks. It takes all the fun away from the hi-hat.
Then again, it's mandatory for metal, so you spent your bread wisely.

I like it. Its cool how you did lots of small bursts rather than one big long one.

Jet - There are metal bands that don't use double kick too. And there is more to drumming than your standard hi-hat runs. But I can't tell you what to like, so go your own way.

I like double kick a lot.

Good stuff.
