Title: AD dead?
Post by: Spyros on Wed 18/06/2003 20:32:31
The link to A.D. http://www.adventuredevelopers.com leads to the mixnmojo page http://www.mixnmojo.com/  that says that their server died with all the files and backups. Does anyone have more info?

Their server got hacked and they lost everything. EVERYTHING.
The server admin even deleted their backups or something.

Needless to say, their Mojo got collectively stolen.

Again.

AD is working again now.. at least it's online and some of the sites are back up.
Hosted people are supposed to contact them.

Last time I checked (20 minutes ago) AD wasn't online - www.adventuredevelopers.com simply links back to mix-'n-mojo. However, they have a list with "survivor" websites, and AD is one of them. What this "survivor" means, is not completely clear however.

Now true story: their server got hacked because of a security hole in YABBSE that allows hacker get access to root account... Hacker actually didn't delete anything, but he tried to get free webspace and because of him the server was restarted often. Well, they decided to do fresh install to get security holes fixed. The serverparks, they held their server in, administrator promised to apply security fixes and backup their data. They got back the server freshly installed without no backups...
