Title: any Posers out there?!
Post by: on Sun 22/06/2003 21:05:34
i need help folks! ....but i guess you already know that! :-[
i'm try to do an intro for my latest flop of a game and i just can't get my head round Poser 4
i'm trying to get a bike with rider/ pillion, i have the bike model, i spent hours setting up the rider, got him somewhere near imported the pillion, the rider buggered off and i ended up with a nakey lady riding the bike, and it wouldn't undo and guess what?! i never saved it! :-\
i don't s'pose anyone has any free time and could lend a hand? it doesn't even need to be detailed the animation is a bike heading toward the camera then overtakes, its going to be black and white, the pillion(female) is the main character, i could do with help with her too.
what can i do in return?!, well i'm pretty good at 3D scenes now, or if you electrics feck up on you car or 18wheeler i can fix them ;D!

Paranoia

If you're comfy with 3D, why don't you export the bike and rider to 3d studio format, and animate the whole shot in that? I've tried animation in Poser, and it's a pain in the nether regions :)

thanks miez
i tryed exporting into truespace 5, in 3ds format it changed the rider into a flat square, as an obj file it worked but made  the rider into a solid with with no textures, i messed with the setup but still no joy, i tryed using poser before and hated it, and i still do! , i use truespace because its fairly easy to use, but a bit limited its great for scenes, guess its time to learn 3D studio max! i've had it ages but i'm lazy!

That is true (I just remembered) - exporting to OBJ file makes it one grouped object without any textures. That has to be done by hand, which is a bit of a bother.
