Title: Best Forum Rules Violator Goes to...
Post by: Dualnames on Tue 10/07/2007 09:52:37
Ok, since Darth Mandarb was locking thread the other day, I noticed that there is no single topic of mine in all the forums except the completed games announcement sector that hasn't been locked or deleted or moved or all together, I'm only here (at the forums) since Christmas. And by watching the forums I've seen that i'm the only one whos acting like this(and Cyrus as well). So I think I should been given the title of the greatest Violator.

Guess I took the phrase "Rules are meant to be broken" way too seriously..

This post should be deleted, it goes to the "Best Rules Violator sub-forum" that you get to see after your post number 290.

Most of my posts were made in the Completed Game Announcements too, I just pasted this phrase all over again "Wow! cool graphics and story, can't wait!", you can have it if you want.

Let's keep cheering people so we can keep getting free games!, Im glad you joined my cause, WELCOME Dualnames, welcome.

PS: I always edit my posts, is my hobbie.

You and Cyrus (You aren't the same person are you?  Both have a penchant for breaking rules, repeatedly bump each others' threads, have a habit of starting posts with the words "Well" or "OK" for no apparent reason...) aren't the worst rule breakers we've had around here. (unless you are the same person! :=)  I've only been here for three years and I've seen worse.  I'm sure some of the older people have seen even more.

Basically you both need to do a little thinking before you post.  Especially, you need to ask yourself if you even need to post what you're posting at all.  Remember the three golden rules.  Cyrus, especially needs to not bump old threads and needs to learn that taking it to PM is almost always a better option for the kind of questions that he unendingly asks.  But sometimes it's ridiculous.  Like here (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=29590.0) or here (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=25233.msg404506#msg404506) where a joke completely whooshes over his head.  But I've talked to him about it via PM because I think a few times I was too mean to him in the forum.

Anyways, this is a very inclusive forum, and it's the only forum that I really enjoy reading and posting in because of the strong set of rules and moderators that keep it clean and civilized (for the most part  :=).  A lot of other forums are absolute pig sties compared to this place.  Just take some time to learn the rules before posting.  And before you click the post button, think if your post is actually useful.  I often type out a post only to decide not to click that button in the end, and still I sometimes post and later regret it, thinking that I should have thought about it more.  If in doubt, don't post.  At the most, send a PM.  It never hurts to PM.

Breaking forum rules isn't such a huge deal (although it's annoying and will eventually make you look silly) as long as you're not provocative and offensive in the same time.

If you show some sort of desire to improve and repent, then don't worry. Of course, when these people respond to moderators and other members who tell them off with "OMF waht are U attacking me 4?!!!???!!!!?? Shut up next time OK???", then it's much worse.

Well, you can have that title if you start cursing out moderators publicly. So, do that.

... is it a bad sign that I posted in both of these topics?

Ahh, reminds me of my n00b days. Games with no screenshots in the WIP thread, Unnecessary  text formats, Mouthing off to mods and asking for help at the same time... :D

The forums have completely changed me I think.

OK, on topic, I'd have to say Kirota. It wasn't the worst, but really the most annoying.

"Can I have the code and I need the whole code not 3 codes or 2 codes and I need to know where this goes so can you tell me how to do it??????"

Don't forget this oft-missed rule:

Violators are subject to immediate violation by the moderators.

Man, remember the worst of the worst posters? That pro-Bush guy that was like 12 years old? What was his name? poop345 or something?

Was that even here? (shifty eyes)

A deadly combination.
