Maybe I should just wait and see if Mr. Jones will release a Christian version...

I can be debugging my own Adventure engine in the meantime...

Yes, absolutely. AGS version 8.0 will be downloadable in different versions to suit all tastes -- including a Christian Edition, Muslim Edition, Athiest Edition, Star Trek Edition, Matrix Edition and all combinations of the aforementioned.

However, it might take a while to get all the development done, so I suggest that in the meantime you go back to debugging your own engine. Pop back in another 18 months to see how things are getting on.

Yeah, and there better be a version with quotes from Anton Lavey.

Come to think of it, Aleister Crowley's "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law" would make an excellent tagline for a game creation tool.

I'm up for some quotes from the Necronomicon myself. Strange Aeons anyone?

I know a guy who used the Necronomicon to put a fire spell on his shoes.

I've been around for a while on this lil old thing called the Interwebs, and let me tell you son, this here is just a FRACTION of the depths that can be plumbed.

Why, the stories I could REGALE you with, the sordid tales I have witnessed being spun out before my eyes, like spontaneous eruptions of bosums on an army of gophers...

I'd go with "No, fuck off!" but you wouldn't get the reference and thus just would get offended.

Christianity is really the siliest religion to go extreme on. All you can do that way is harm yourself really. You're not going anyplace by harming others, but by torturing yourself with foolish obidience to rules impossible to follow. And in the process you'll just be doing some level of harm to others, thus willingly hurting others and going to Hell anyway. Christianity is a very contradictory religion, no matter which way you look at it. So look at it from a point of view where you do the least harm and have the best possible time yourself.

I'm eagerly waiting for the Crowley quote to show up then, btw.
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

He's a slow moving troll, then. He joined the forums eighteen months ago, and it's taken him until now to start?

That's the thing about trolls. They build up momentum.

No Agnostic edition, Chris? I was hoping for an Agnostic Star Trek boobies edition.
