As everyone knows, the holidays can be somewhat unpleasant. "Is it New Year's yet?! Gawd, I need a friggin' drink..." Now that we've finally managed to squeeze out the defiant turd that is Thanksgiving, now we have to deal with the hemorrhoid that is Christmas.
Anyway, what does everyone hope to find underneath their tree this year?

Meh,
I don't REALLY need the stuff I asked for, but it sure would be cool!
Nice of you to point out the real essentials in life.....
but your wishlist is the same as a bum's wishlist :=
Not true, N3tty.
A bum's wishlist would include a pack of smokes, and bottle of cheap booze.
Hahaha,
You're probably right ;D

Dear SSH, folklore is cool, and keeping the costumes of your lovely wife in a foreign country, even more. But enjoying your presents just the 6th day of January when you could have enjoyed it since 25th of December is... a cruel decission towards the kids! :)
I would spend my money in videogames! Call of duty, maybe? Star Wars gallaxies started kit, and probably a tablet. And in an autographed nude pic of DG MacPhee.
Heh, who asks only for things they need?
Dear Joulupukki, I've been very good this year, as your gnomes have reported you. Yet this year has been hard for us, having to live with mom's low salary, but I wish you merry christmas nevertheless, after all, it is the time of hope and joy. This year me wishes will be represented through links, as you know, multimedia r0x0rz these days. So here you have it:

...hmm, and a Harley Davidson would be cool, as well as a Saab 96... and once you're at it, I wouldn't mind if some of my "unwanted relatives" dissappeared, if you know what I mean. Tell Luigi, hell know Ã, :-X
Oh, and if something comes to mind, I'll just send a text message!
- an mp3-player
- a dvd burner
- Don Rosa's 'Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck'
- Terry Pratchett's books
- some movies
- Mario Kart DS for Nintendo DS
- Shadow of Memories for PC
Dear Santa Claus, st. Nikolaus, Joulupukki, Ded Moroz or whatever you call yourself,
I've been extremely good this year, stopping this downhill nightmare that's been going on for last 8 years, worked hard to make some money and finally picked up where I left my education, ending up being best in my class...
If possible, please
* cure my dad's cancer
* help me to find a job where I could use my artistical abilities or computer knowledge, and preferably do it half-time or at home so I could continue school
* send a really nice and loving girl to my path
If not, maybe
* Give me the power to learn Photoshop, PHP and stay strong with my holiday-less life tempo
* Help me to finish Henri: Don't Drink & Drive!
* more creativity and willpower!
* Show me the way to get a driving license quickly
And if you're nothing godlike at all and miracles is not your case, I would appreciate
* a new video card
* a raise
* less spyware
* an apartment which I could afford
* licensed and legal copy of Windows
Thanks, Santa! ;)

I recently made all of my students write a letter to Santa in English (for those that don't know, I teach in Japan, so this is very difficult for them). It was supposed to help them practice their English and teach them the proper formatting for letter-writing and envelope-addressing. Here's the sample letter that I wrote on the board:

Dear Santa,
Merry Christmas!!! My name is Vince Twelve. I am twenty three years old and I live in Sashiki, Okinawa. My hobbies are sleeping and masticating. What are your hobbies?
I have been very good this year, so please give me a lot of presents!
This year, I want peace on Earth and a Nintendo DS. It's so cool! Also, I want to be the king of Spain.
I'll be waiting for your reply!
Your good pal,
Vince
You'd be surprised at how many students just copied that down and changed the name. I made fun of them.
For reals: I want one of those portable iPod speakers, a new external harddrive (it's annoying when the hard drive that you bought to use as a backup in case your computer dies, dies before your computer), Phoenix Wright and Mario Kart for the DS, and some stuff for my new house.
If I got my wish, I'd get this for Christmas.
Panasonic DVX100B 24p Camera (http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=94944&catGroupId=14571&surfModel=AG-DVX100B&displayTab=O)
But that's shooting a little too high! But, oh yes, it will be mine SOMETIME next year.
Bt
Well, I have two lists...
What I want (aka: things I want to own sometime in life):
- Marshall full stack
- 69' Chevelle, metallic blue
- High quality Theremin
- G&L Bass, metallic placid blue
and
- 60' Fender Strat NOS, Sherwood green with a bound rosewood fret board. Which, strangely enough, you can buy here (http://www.themusiczoo.com/fender60sstrat1offsherwoodR14482.htm)
The more likely of gifts I'll receive:
- Candy
- Sweater
- Money for some new cables and an OCD (http://www.fulltone.com/ocd.asp)
And world peace, I suppose. But that can wait. I want to rock!

- body paint
- Real Estate

- To go back home to Montreal and spend the holidays with my family (plane tickets are already bought, so no problem there)
Anything else is just gravy. Oh, that reminds me:
- Gravy.
My family has decided on a "no-gifts" Christmas this year (except for the young ones) to avoid participating in the over-commercialization, etc. of this time of year. I think it's a good idea. Anything that means less time shopping is great :)
That is just plain wrong Geoffkhan, I had almost forgotten about that. Thanks :P
P.S. - I would also like a proper eucalyptus didgeridoo. This bamboo one (http://www.sitesled.com/members/impressiveowl/Disco%20didgy.mp3) is getting old fast.

2000AD Annual
Slymuck
Lego Space Land
Scalextric Mini Cooper
Emu hand puppet
Haha. Geoffkhan, I giggled.
EDIT: you forgot pocket bike (what on earth is it anyways?)
Greg: Why do you need the cash for? Ask for an American express...
And for my list I forgot to add a bike. Mine was stolen earlier this year and I'm really pissed. But I want a road bike a racing one (the kind that costs :'()
Master Nipples:
Ã, Ã, How didst thou get that Ironforgian to ride atop that Level 5 Critter?
Dear Santa!
I would really like to have a new computer... and maybe some more skills using ags.
And - I want to finish my Game Maker christmas-game before the contest time runs out.
That's just an image from the Flintlocke comic on gamespy. The dwarf needed a mount, but he couldn't afford one because ironforge hated him... something about an exploding chicken. The entire comic's here. (http://pc.gamespy.com/articles/593/593838p1.html) He shoulda stuck with the riding cow if you ask me...
