hey,
recently i have been doing a bit of experimenting with cooking, mainly desserts. Anyway, i have made a recipe and if you'd like to try it, here are the details.

                        CHOCOLATE YOGHURT WITH TOPPINGS

Ingredients:
2 cups of MooGoo (or similar (around 30g))
Maple Syrup (Any kind)
Chopped Peanuts (unsalted)
Almonds (approx. 6)

Procedure:
1. Pour the two cups of Chocolate Yoghurt into a bowl.
2. Put in the Almonds. A few should be under the yoghurt and a few above.
3. Pour a small amount of maple syrup over the yoghurt in a "drizzle" formation.
4. Put the Chopped Peanuts over the top.
5. Mix together well.
6. Heat up on Medium for 1 minute on an oven.
7. Eat.

Cheers,
Blake.

Here's one of my own recipies. I call it Cheesy bread stack.

Ingedients:

1 slice of bread
1 slice of cheese
1 more slice of bread
some butter

Procedure:
1. Put the bread on a plate
2. Put a small amount of butter on the bread in a "spread" formation
3. Put on the cheese. All of it should be on top of the bread
4. Put some butter on the other bit of bread
5. Place the other bit of bread butter side down *IMPORTANT* on top of the cheese
6. Eat

My advice: Redouce your ingestion of sugars, fat and high caloric ingredients (such as chocolate, fat and peanuts) I've seen your photo and your situation is not serious (still) because you're not even a teenager and you can grow a lot of centimeters without increasing your weight, giving you a more stylized figure, but you gota start helping your body now.

Losing 500 kcal. per day is a perfectly easy to archieve goal, and that extra 500 kcals. might be in two of your desserts. With thease you'll start losing weight, the average is 4,5 kilos per 9 weeks.

So... Yeah, the dessert sounds tasty, bur it's yoghourt with peanuts, you haven't discovered the cure for cancer... Now you know you are good making desserts stop eating them.

*If someone sees sarcasm in this post, I am talking seriously, and the advise is real... Use it as you want*

i have only tried it once or twice, but your advice is noted.
Also, i'm pretty short and (hopefully) i'll get a growth spurt soon so i'm not
the shortest in my class.

I am writing not from the side of a sport/health zealot, but from a guy who was quite heavy in the past, and the difference is just a matter of taking care in some details and having patience. There are no miracles if you don't do something radical (like riding 100 miles per day with a bike, he... ::)) but just relaxing a little bit with sugars and fats you'll see that you'll finish the years weighting 2 kilos less in spite than 2 more. It might not seem a lot, but after 5 years you'll be 10 kilos less, a significant difference.

And then it will come desire to make 100 miles per day, but that's another history!

I just have to pipe up here to agree with Farlander. You know what cutting fat and snacks did for me, coupled with a twice-weekly visit to the gym (where I did nothing heavy)? 14 kilos lost in 2 months. Yowza. And I didn't really give anything up - I exchanged the cheese I put on top of my rice with "Light" cheese, I started eating grilled instead of fried... little things. \o/

Hmmm ... Care to explain this 'MooGoo' concept? I'm afraid I'm rather culturely ignorant ...

Mr Jake

Smart money would be on brand of Chocolate Yoghurt

Becky

Why does it matter how the ingredients are arranged if you mix them up?

auhsor

I think MooGoo is that chocolate (or whatever) yoghurt type stuff. I'm guessing its like Yogo's (Don't know if you have them where you live either).

Breakfast for working people:

1. Get up early enough hoping that you'll have time to buy some toast and coffee.
2. Arriving at 8 sharp anyway, forget about the eye opener, go straight to your desk.
3. StartÃ,  doing the job of three people.
4. Around 13:00 , pretend that you go to the loo, stop at the canteen, try to buy whatever is available at that time.
5. After you've been spotted, go back to desk and do the tasks added.
6. Around 14:30 ,take the longest way to the canteen. Hide in corners to avoid boss, managers, collegues, clients.
7. After you've been spotted, go back to desk and do the tasks added.
8. Finish work at 16:00, buy something nice smelling right outside your office, don't even bother to chew it .....

yes, very bad day, I'll modify this into a proper recipe later...

Of course weight loss has nothing to do with getting healthy. It's your body composition that counts. When most people diet, they favor cardio in place of weight training. As a result, they end up losing more muscle than fat. Sure they end up lighter, but their percentage of body fat rises, slowing down their metabolism and putting them at risk for detrimental health problems. A lot of people believe that your metabolism naturally slows down as you age, but that's a total myth. It only happens that way as a person's sedentary lifestyle catches up to them.

For instance, Dr. Fred Hatfield set the world record for squats in 1987, at the ripe young age of 45! He lifted 1014 lbs (~460 kilos). There is a video of this here.

Are you saying I'm a walking ball of muscleless fat? Huh? Huh? Are ya? Wanna take this outside? Huh? HUH?!!!!!ONE!

On a saner note... I didn't know that. Good thing I did fitness, which was cardio and a bit of weight, huh?

Worst thing I've ever made was a cheese and sausage sandwich, in which the bread was french toast. Some day I might get some of this "fat" I hear tell of.

But BB... Read my post again. I am not talking of one of those radical diets in which you remove the dinner or something. Actually, those weird diets usually create a rebound effect:

At the beginning you are burning 1000 Kcals. per day, and eat 1100 kcals per day (100 kcals. stored per day). Then you start a radical diet in which you eat 500 kcals. per day.

You start to lose kilos, and when you are happy you start to eat 1000 kcals, again. But the problem was that your body has used to the time when you were eating 500 and it used to work burning just 750 per day. The result: You store as much kilocals. as you did before, a total failure.

I am talking of a little change of attitude, just having in mind that you can't eat "whatever you want, when you wish". It is better to wait to lunch time. It is better to increase the amount of fruit in front of the main dish, better to eat an apple than a chocolate pie and better to roast than frying... It's not difficult and it works terrific.

That's not a magical diet which makes you lose water and muscle. In fact I've talked of losing 2 kilos per year.

If you wanna talk about radical diets (and sport squedules, mainly) which make you lose 1 kilo per week (75% fat, but 25% of muscle too, everything pushes down in the hills) I am open to discuss about how healthy they are, but here is the recipe:

-Eat a bowl of 10 yoghurt and cereals at 8 o'clock.
-Ride your bike for 125 kms. 5 hours aprox. through hills and valleys.
-Come home and eat some pieces of fruit and isotonic liquids, no real lunch...
-Have dinner at 18:00h.
-Go to sleep at 23:00h.

THAT is unhealthy man!  :) Fortunatelly it only lasts 2 or 3 months. After that you can eat everything you want (I ate 2 kilos of pears and a water mellon one day, while my mom was buying food... I couldn't wait)  ;D

Believe it or not, that's a pretty popular Portuguese snack. We also love Portuguese rolls heated with butter slathered all over it. And you wonder why a lot of Portuguese people are fat slobs. ;)

Also, I believe a few companies have made chocolate yogurt. It didn't do well, I'd imagine, and has since vanished. :)
Status: Trying to come up with some ideas...

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

It is? I never heard of it. :P Are you sure it's not one of those "so-called-Portuguese-snacks" that get sold in foreign "Portuguese food" shops, or something, that few people in Portugal actually eat?

At any rate, I have to say, and I've been paying attention lately, the average portuguese person is many things - lazy, pessimistic, short-to-medium height (tall is rare, though we have extra-tall too - even rarer, naturally). Fat, the average person certainly isn't.
