Title: Flukeblake's List of Games for 2006
Post by: PsychicHeart on Thu 13/10/2005 06:56:05
Hey everyone,
As TerranRich covers movies, i thought i'd cover a few games that are coming in the next year. Enjoy!

ONIMUSHA: DAWN OF DREAMS
Yeah, another Onimusha Game! HEY, wait a minute! Didn't they say the the Onimusha series was a trilogy? Oh well, from the screenies it looks pretty cool, and this fourth game should live up to the last three Oni titles.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE LEGEND OF JACK SPARROW
Haha, DizzyDancer asked not too long ago 'Will anyone ever make a POTC game'?
Well, good news Dizzy, although no screenies have been released, it looks like it's shaping up to be a pretty cool pirate experience. Completely interactive levels, inwhich you can interact with pretty much everything in the level, from trees to building doors and shitloads more. Wicked.

TAXI DRIVER
Anyone who loved the movie, this picks up right after it. It's a pretty hardass action title, which should make musthave lists for fans of games that like The Getaway.

JAWS: UNLEASHED
Speaking of Movie-to-games, Jaws: Unleashed is looking pretty good.
In this game you play the shark, and have to escape humans like Marine Biologist Michael Brody, who wants to capture you for research. I can't wait to play it.

TEEN TITANS
Haha, this looks like any 6-10 year old's dream game!
Based on the Cartoon Network cartoon of the same name, you can play as each of the characters, and as far as i know inherit their powers.

THE GODFATHER
Another Movie-to-game! You relive the movie action, but create your own character (with advanced customisation tools of course) to play through as. You'll need to intimidate and slowly crawl your way to the top. Looking good!

BULLY
A lot of people have heard about it, but Bully from Rockstar is looking like a fantastic game! This is high school, boots 'n' all, with overthetop missions including a hell of a lot of head bustin'. All the usual highschool stuff is there, pulling pranks, getting the crap kicked out of you (and then some) and of course, escape from teachers. A great game from a great gaming company.

HITMAN: BLOOD MONEY
A new step in the incredible Hitman series, Hitman: Blood Money is looking like one fine game. Instead of the 'Kill for no good reason' routine, there is an intense plotline, and when you make hits, this time you get paid for them. The money you earn from hits will allow you to buy new weapons, armour etc. Looking good, definitely one to watch out for.

Well, there's plenty more fantastic games coming out next year, but hopefully this will keep your tastebuds tantilized for at least a while.

Cheers,
Fb.

those are some nice titles :) especially onimusha.

I think i'll always be sceptical about movie-to-game games, but i'll give pirates of the carribean a chance. Very good movie it was.

what is it that i hear blizzard is working on another title, and it's not starcraft ghost nor diablo 3. A new project ...

Then, revive the old topic and complete it. It is not compulsory to start a new one each month to keep your AGS account, this is not hotmail...  :P

Onimusha is a decent game, but I really don't enjoy new games much.  Clone of a clone of a clone of a clone ... lol

Sorry to give you the bad news FlukeBake, but Taxi driver (assuming you mean the game of the film) has been canned. I doubt it was going to be any good anyway.

My games to play in 2006:

Final Fantasy 12
Elder scrolls : Oblivion
Dragon Quest (latest one)
Latest Hitman (If that's still on course for this year)

This sounds extraordinarily stupid.  Oh no, look everyone, Jaws isn't really the villain!  It just wants to live!  Bullshit.  The only kind of Jaws game I want to see is the one where it has a rabid taste for manflesh and beach fatties are at the top of the menu!

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

I put a 5 dollar deposit down for this game a couple of months ago for the XBox 360, but the only catch is I don't have one yet. So i'm hoping by the time the game ships, my local game store will have some in stock. (XBox 360)

I could always get it for PC, but i'd rather play it on my TV set than my monitor.

Hope the game lives up to its Hype and the 4 years it has spent in development.

you could always spend the money on a new graphics card with s-video out... plus the PC version is likely to cost less.

I'm looking forward to games that won't come out like Space Quest 7, Full Throttle 2, Leisure Suit larry 8 (not a stupid non-Al Lowe game), and the sequel to Overseer.

But this will NEVER happen
