I'd also suggest Daz3D's free Poser-like program called DAZ|Studio. It's always been free. I think.

Gah, I'm annoyed. I registered at CP, and added poser to my basket. But whenever I try to DL it it either tells me the server is busy or I get a 404. I got it working once, with a DL speed of 10kbs :/. I share this computer with my brother so that's no good.

Apparently once it's in my basket I can DL it even after the offer ends. So I'll try when the fuss dies down.

Bryce 5 rocks I use it for a pic in the crit lounge. I really like the way you can import in 3DS Max models. So I can do those grand naval/space battles!

EDIT: I got Poser 5 DLing. Its slow still, but my brothers at work so I'm ok to leave it downloading.

Feck it, the download broke and stopped after 9mb, I'll try again in a few days,

Get Blender. It's a real 3d program.

Blender makes my head hurt. Anybody who tells me its GUI is intuitive is obviously a robot.

I'll stick with my trusty copy of Cinema 4D.

Anyone who has actually bothered to learn the interface of blender would know it is quite good. I still prefer 3dsmax, but blender is free, and works a charm.
