Has anyone actually succeeded in one of these freepay, grabaipod.com, etc things?

the deal is usally that you complete an offer, usally $1 trials, and then you must refer a ceratin amount of friends who must also complete an offer. then apparently, the item of your choice is mailed to your door.

if someone started on the forum everyone could join in and at leat one person is sure to end up with an xbox, ipod etc.

The first and only time I tried something like this, I wound up with a yellow plastic digital camera. It was broken when it arrived in the mail.

IF it worked (i don't know if it does) it would be a nice way to provide some entertainment at a next *ittens meeting. The host signs up and everyone who will attend signs up using the host as a referrer. The host gets the playstation which he/she'll bring along to *ittens :)

I have no experience whatsoever with these things though. Most of the time one of the conditions is: "Participant must live in US or Canade in order to be eligeble (sp) for the friggin playstation"

I always try to confuse it into thinking I've completed offers.

Once I found a page that the scripters had deliberately inserted an erroneous character into the date section of the page...which you had to fill out...o.0...so the date was always invalid. I tried copying the page and fixing the error but the page just refreshed itself.

Also I've found that sometimes you wind up reaching a page with "bonus offers" which just leads to another "FREE*" gift...and there's no way to actually complete the offer you filled out in the first place.

It's a good way to kill time.

That can't kind of stuff is only there to send you junk some how,  Invented by commercial lowlives. Best not to fall for this. You'll only end up clicking one link after another, ending up on several advertising sites. And you never get your x-box or Runescape money.

If it sounds dodgy on the internet then it is. The idea that you can get items worth tens or hundreds of dollars by signing up to a few trials and referring a few people consistently makes no economic sense. I have spoken to people that have recieved ipods etc, but look at it, for every person that gets one there have to be hundreds that don't or it just doesn't work... if you can put in the effort to make 5 of your friends to sign up and refer 5 people, then you might get one, but that's actually quite hard and you'll be furthering what is essentially a pyramid scheme. It's not really any better than stealing one from a store, you're causing people trouble either way.
