So i was watching American Dad the other day and it got me thinking. A lot of people classify AD as a derivative of Family Guy. Now, some people classify family guy as a derivative of Futurama, which is classified as a derivative of The Simpsons, which is classified as a derivative of The Flintstones, WHICH is classified as a derivative of the Honeymooners!
Anyone noticed this!?

Sorry, but no. All i know is American Dad and Family Guy are made from the same people. (Seth McFarlane?? is that correct)

But the father in AD is a real dick though.  :)

Yes, Family Guy and American Dad are made by the same person, Seth MacFarlane.

Yeah...but I don't think that FG is really "a derivative" of Futurama or the Simpsons. Seeing as Futurama and the Simpsons are both made by Matt Groening (sp?) I can see how the one could be said to be "a derivative" of the other...but I don't see the FG-Futurama connection. Unless you really just watch that much [adult swim].

But I haven't seen FG on AS that much of late. The reason I brought it up is because at various points in AS history the show times have switched from:

10:00 - Family Guy
10:30 - Futurama

To:

10:00 - Futurama
10:30 - Family Guy

That's about the only connection I see there.  And I definitely don't see the connection between the Simpsons and the Flintstones. In fact I refuse to see it. They are absolutely not at all alike. And I'm not familiar with this "Honeymooners" of which you speak.

The Honeymooners was an old sitcom, you twit! :=

That clears up a lot.

I definitely didn't get anything about it being a T.V. show from the fact that everything else was a T.V. show. Thank you for the amazingly stunning new and helpful INFORMATION.

Which goes to show that we haven't seen anything original on TV since the days Shakespeare lived.

But boy, did I enjoy sitcoms back in the 16:th century.

Is family man is a derivated from Futurama I must say that it has lost a lot during the process of converssion... Futurama is my favourite show in TV and I never EVER even smiled with family man... And I've tried!

Then, dissapointment after dissapointment, I simply got sick of it and now I just avoid it.
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

That's because you've been watching the wrong show. It's Family Guy, silly you :D. You must have been watching Family Doctor with Nacho, Pedro Peña and such :D. Now that is a great show.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it Shakespeare that came up with the idea of people riding around on invisible horses? That was a brilliant idea, and the addition of coconuts by Monty Python was just incredible.
