I may need counseling. :-\
Anyone else blow stupid amounts of money on hobbies?
Awe, man. That's almost worth it, though. :)
About stupid spendings: I just bought a new computer for 1500â,¬ (that's ~1700 American $). That borders on stupidly expensive, but unfortunately electronics don't come cheap around here.
i'm always spending far too much money on stuff i think i'm gonna use...
i once paid £150 for a little radio controlled robot kit, i paid over £100 to have three posters framed which cost me less than £7 each (which i think was worth it), and i recently bought a synthesizer for £270, but that's not a waste of money as i'm actually going to use it...
You moron! I could have gotten that for you for free...of coarse, you would be persued by the FBI and the mafia for the rest of your life. Aw well...;)
I spent $50 on one of those plasma orb...things. You know the ones where little beams flow from the center onto the glass, and when you touch it, a big beam flows to your hand? That piece of shit.
I should buy some stuff off ebay and amazon.
Even though the rate is US0.67 to the Aussie dollar, the wonders of the Forex makes American goods really really cheap to me at the moment.
I'd buy Runaway off Amazon, but they're only shippin in the US. Cunts.

For $100 Australian, I once bought an external modem that didn't work.
100 Canadian isn't that bad compared to the 200 plus that I saw on Amazon a while back. Considering it was originally 40 when the collection came out, though...Ah well...I still have a couple of them on floppy disks.
I don't actually blow most of my cash on one thing. It's the small things that add up. Like going out to eat or the movies. Once a week isn't so bad, but if I go out for more than that, it drains my money supply, and I'm trying to save some of it.

I have spent amountless money for my game collection, for example I have all Space Quests originals (no collection though)...
I got SQ6 on ebay for $1.99 US and the postage was about $5 US
so it cost me about $12 or $13 AUS, (it arrived within a week from the USA) I got the SQ1-5 collection years ago for a present.
If you can afford $100 and it doesn't break the bank, I'm sure it's worth it.
I've never had enough money to waste a lot of it on something, but I once persuaded a friend to buy a Voodoo 5 5500. I was genuinely convinced at the time that this hardware T&L nonsense wasn't going to work out.
I bought my SQ-collection for some 10 bucks or so...two years ago, on ginza.se...it's not there anymore, though.
It sucks that those games have become so expensive these days...but it's pretty cool too
Well, I bought all the original Metallica albums (including Garage Inc., not including St. Anger) + S&M. That cost me around 200$. Now, considering the fact that I have no problems with downloading all these songs and burning them to an audio CD, and that almost all of my other CDs were compiled like that, that's truly remarkable.
When I'm on eBay and something I want is about to end, I usually get stuck into a completely irrational 'bidding war' mode, determined to get whatever it is. Often I end up spending way more than is reasonable. I hate losing auctions though, it always ruins my day.
I've spent a couple thousand on guitars and guitar equipment, mics and crap that I will never use again....
I have this crap new technology CD-ROM player that cost a lot of money, and nobody else in the world has one. Has a flat hard-drive thingie you can stuff into your cd-driver, and read/write 640 MB's on. Piece of shit was broken after a month too. AND NOBODY ELSE IN THE WHOLE WORLD USES THEM EITHER!
Thats no where near as cool as my zip drive....
/me , with the wry look of the ultimately triumphant, brings out with flourish the incomparable tape drive.
I have a zip drive.
It's the parallel port version.
It is disgustingly slow and I barely use it just because of that reason.
I suppose if I got a USB version it may be less useless.
I purchased SQ3 the only box I didn't have on ebay for $35.00 ... but I found the orginial Maniac Mansion game at my local thrift store in mint condition for only $2.00 ... so that makes up for it. :)
Damn you and your SQ3 box...
