Guys, you know, you are not acting any more mature than Flukeblake is. I mean, yes he can be irritating sometimes, but PLEASE guys stop being asses at him! This community should be a friendly and nice place to be in. Nobody should be in the fear that everytime you say something, someones gonna attack you!

(and don't listen to Fluke.. .we didn't make him that way... )

Yes but you sure as hell are making it worse.

Now that I've said what I had to say, welcome aboard Snaezy. Enjoy your stay at this nowadays so hostile community.

TheYak

Hostile?  Reading the thread until your post, it all seemed pretty light-heared with some half-joking little jabs both to and from Fluke.  I don't think anyone here's got a grudge against Fluke anymore.  His ADHD makes him endearing.

I know, I'm a newbie. I'm probably gonna ask a bazillion questions when the answers are right in front of my face. But atleast I can admit I'm a newbie! I'm 11, but I promise I can act mature. You probably don't want to be my friend, so that's OK. I'll be reading guides and other things like that, so I might not respond right away. If you are reading this, thank you for taking time out of your life to read something that probably won't do you any good.

Please bear in mind that the minimum age here is 16, so there may be adult discussions in this forum and you will be expected to post in a mature fashion.

Also, shbaz is right, if you live in the US then legally speaking I am not allowed to permit you to be a member here if you are under 13.

I think that this is a potential problem to consider. But you already know that... :-\

Pabs: There's a pill. It is of the "chill" variety. I suggest taking some.

Where was anyone, until you, hostile? And how am I making it worse? I'm sorry, I seem to have forgotten about the law... You know, the same one from the guys that say you have to be 13 to chat on the internet (snicker) that you have to walk on eggshells whenever certain people are around because you don't want to risk hurting their feelings. Who knows, because I said "We didn't make him that way" he could come in here some day, guns blazing, and take us all out! Then won't I feel bad...

CJ: is that serious? It totally can't be. Did Jack Thompson get a hold of the internet, now??? How can you have written parental consent to be on a forum or chatroom? And how is it at all enforcible?

The problem is that he snaezy.. told all of us that he's 11, thus creating a problem. And of course the problem lies with his parents, but then again since we know it, aren't we taking part in a "crime".

Of course this is all bullshit, but then again when being 11 or 12 is difficult to have judgment of your own. And these are forums for 16 and over. And the law is a law. Just that!

I know a friend who lied about his age. But his is not right, is it?

Well, actually what I meant was that there have been quite much arguing with new people here lately. Especially with Flukeblake. I'd just want people to stop this, if it's not too much to ask. Now that I read my post again, yes you're right that might sound hostile, if you take it that way, but I certainly do not want to start a flame war.

Esper: I of course didn't mean that YOU alone are making it worse. Sorry if my post gave you that image. :) I meant that many people here don't accept him. If they did, I believe he would turn out to be a very nice person after all. Really...

There is something called a COPPA Consent Form that you can have to allow it all to be done properly, but quite frankly the Age 13 requirement suits us quite well here -- this is not a teen chat forum, and in general (though this is certainly not directed at Snaezycorangeio) people under 13 tend to be rather immature and tend to over-post. Anyway this debate has been done to death several times in the past, so I'm not going to go over it all again.

Cool. Sorry to get "all up ons."

And I can't believe that's possible, about the COPPA consent form. That's whack. I've known eleven year olds more intelligent and discerning than certain college professors :D

True. I knew a kid called Danny, he was that clever he became the Champion of the World!

(offtopic: ^ best. post. ever.)

Yeah, coppa is a stupid idea. Why base on age when you should base it on maturity? Really, I'm probably much younger than most of you would expect.

Unfortunately, my .... hmmmmmmm......... [guess]nineteen[/guess] year old friend... that would require putting every child who wanted to go on the internet in a testing facility for a year, and issuing each one their own private psychologist. The age thing is stupid, especially if you consider how technically, legally someone who is 17 years and 364 days old, has a steady job and is in all respects quite mature, can't buy a video game designated M. It's quite foolish, IMHO.

But I'm straight......... :-[

I would try fifteen, but that's not exactly very down from nineteen...

Anyway, does anyone realize I never finished my little allegory from my last post?

[conclusion] But a thirty year old crack addict with a history of violence and forty bucks he got from pimping his girlfriend CAN...

I was new once... in fact, I still am...

*Hides under sofa*

The great thing about the net is that you can express your thoughts through those very letters you type, rather than your vocal chords. Most of you would hate me in real life. I talk too much too fast, am clingy and look stupid. Where as...

Wait... nevermind  ;D

Common now... nothing to be afraid of when you're new... except for the hazings... they go on something like this:

But the good part is, after a few hours you get to be the green one!
APPARENTLY IM ON A "TROLLING SPREE"

First of all welcome to the community! A great chence to start a topic which turns into something these guys have had creeping inside their heads for long now. Take some time, go through threads around three, -four months and you'll see the stubbornity that dwells within the chambers of AGS -forums.

[example]Did I mention something about a community? Well, Pabs did, and Esper thought he meant this particular thread. Misunderstandings are why the hostility earlier mentioned, and I agree with Pablo about the community... Let's see wherther someone misunderstands this one and starts to argue :D[\example]

Btw, I remembered this little story about someone who knows someone who is much more mature than her/his age suggests... won't tell more, ask the boy/girl himself... oops

Should you read MArx's Capital, you'd be all right with the rules here... just kidding, but read it, learn and regret.

PsychicHeart

the end of my post was actually just a bit of a joke of newbie hazing, and how it can really screw people up.

ADD. Not ADHD. I know it's not that different, but it is indeed different.
