This awful thing bothers me for awhile I tried everything and still it's there it keeps poping up every time I click ok. I tried spybot s&d ADaware ZA spywere and such.
In task manager when I click on go to process it takes me to CSRSS.exe I can't delete it even with unlocker tool/program.
I would appreciate any help
Are you not installing windows updates? Haven't seen any Messenger Service popups since before XP SP1. You can probably safely disable your messenger service anyway by right clicking My Computer and going to Manage, go to the Services and Applications option, Services, then right click the Messenger service, go to properties, stop it, and set its Startup Type to Disabled. Chances are you don't use this service for anything except recieving spam so it doesn't need to be on.
As scotch said....
you normally get those if the firewall is disabled, XP SP2 would keep reminding you of the fact on start up, early XP versions didn't
Let's repeat:
Click Start > Run
Type:
services.msc
hit enter
Locate "Messenger" in services list
double-click
Set "startup type" to "disabled"
Stop the service
No worries! :D
I hope that this will help! Everything works fine for now!
BIG thanks :D
hurray
Sweet! I used to get those all the time. Now if it happens again I know how to stop it.
I have an XP question. It keeps telling me my disk space on drive D is low. I know this. Its a full fudging drive, and Im certainly not deleting its content to make XP happy. Is there a way of turning those "Disk space running low" popups by the clock disapear? Clicking the options for that specific task of "clearing" the drive or what not does not bring up any options about these reminders/popups. Any help would be appreciated :)

1. Run the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE).
2. Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Policies\ Explorer.
3. If it's not there, create a DWORD value and call it NoLowDiskSpaceChecks.
4. Double-click on NoLowDiskSpaceChecks, and enter the value 1, and press OK.
Many thanks dude!!!
AlbinoPanther has many more messages than me!
Well I have more messages than AlbinoPanther!
But that doesnt mean much really, other than perhaps I should spring clean it! For all you know, 100 messages are from moderators telling me off!
Hey.. that's LJUBI!!! Or erm.. one half of LJUBI? :-\
Yes, do delete old messages unless you desperately need them. Every member having hundreds of PMs is a waste of space. Use email and IM for extended communications.
