Title: I seemed to remember this but...
Post by: Alynn on Mon 19/06/2006 08:37:19
As some of you may remember, I started an AGS game like 2 years ago, and was able to release a demo just before I spent a year in Iraq, and when I got back, found my computer riddles with viruses, since my wife didnt remember to run the scanner and updater... Which meant I had to comepletely format the whole computer, I lost everything...

Well I finally found the old SkyTower Rescue compiled game, and I seem to remmeber someone mentioning about a reverse compiler or something. I'd really like to get my graphics out of it, and if I could get the whole game out it would be even better. Frankly I watched the game again, and it cracks me up... and I decided it would be a shame to let it die if there is a way to revive it.

Thanks :)

Ask CJ, he may probably be able to help you in that department, especially when it's obvious that it's your game and are not stealing others' work.

There's no public AGS decompiler, but if it's an old enough version of AGS I think CJ may be able to bring the game source back to life. Ã, If it's newer, it's not possible to get back the game code...
The only stuff I know how to get back from a compiled game, currently, are the sprites and music from vox files... but it's not like I've tried hard to get them, perhaps CJ can get your backgrounds out too.

Bah SSH You remember everyting :P

Ok well for those that care http://www.yelloweyedstudio.com/data/STR.zip

Oh and one per customer please, I don't need you guys eating all my bandwith :P

It doesn't work quite the same way it did when I first released it... I have no idea why, but I dunno, it still makes me laugh. Or you can just say, it sucks don't bother, and I wont...

But thanks SSH and Gilbot... I'll just have to wait for the big man to see my humble plea.
