At the moment I am creating a web site for a department store in my local area. This store has beena round for a long time and part of the site is dedicated to the history of the shop. what i want is a javascript (or similar) that i can put several pictures (of ther shop outer through the age) into and it will morph each picture into the other. I could just use fade but I wanted something slightly more interesting. does anyone have any ideas where i could get this from or any alternatives. :-\
I urge you not to use java
on my computer it takes at least 5 seconds for it to load up and display java and it freezes my whole browser just for a little morph effect
i'd much rather see a flash movie if anything
i would use flash but i don't know how to do this un,less i just use "fade"
with flash, where you would normally put a motiontween you can go to tween properties and select an imagetween (i think thats what its called).
You then set hints as to where the lines will merge into each other...
sorry if its a little vauge, but its been a long time since i used flash for animating.
try www.flashkit.com :)

But that only works well for vector based images, right? if you want to do fun stuff with bitmaps it's going to be fading, colourchanging or do something with animated masks... anyway - www.flashkit.com is the place to find out. :)
There was a download of the day on TSS (techtv show) a morph proggy that made avis and gifs of image morphing, just make a looping gif for it
I had a program called Morpheus (there is also about two different programs with the same name :-\)... and what it did was allow you to set points on one image, and then on another image, set the same points to different areas of it, so that it morphs... you then set how long the morph effect would last (as in, it takes 3 seconds to morph) and then you could export it as a gif, a mov or an avi file.
Thats the name! Therse some samples in it of a girl turning into a cat to teach you it. Give it a try
