Hello.

I've recently acquired my very own domain name (well almost my very own). This means I'll now sto bugging you guys for free file hosting and I'll stop burdening the AGS servers with my images and such.

It's on http://www.c1ph3r.as.ro/ (don't worry, I'm changing the name soon and yes, I do hate leet speech, but it seemed like a good name at the time). Take a look. Please. The ads are in Romanian (don't worry about those) and I've heard pop-ups are also available, so you should turn those off.

I've only got the main page and it's very basic and I'd also like some pointers from a professional. I'm only using html 'cause php seems so complicated, so take that into account.

Thanks a lot.

Okay, never mind, it doesn't do it anymore.

Just a few things:

The images on the bottom (the small banners to AGS related stuff) is lined up weird. I'd suggest enclosing each set of content (banner and accompanying text) in <p>...</p> tags, to separate them correctly.

And also a small suggestion: try not to underline things that are not links. It's a little confusing. Just a pointer though.

Other than that, it looks pretty good for a start.

TerranRich is correct, I was hovering my mouse over underlined things mistaking them for links.

Hmm a lot of writing and not much in the way of pics. Most people are going to be put off straight away by having a page of almost pure text, if you want my opinion.

Keep it up, you'll improve!

If you have trouble with spelling, I'd give SpellCheck a try. For grammar, I recommend school.

Also, alot of the links are linked wrong. ('http://www.c1ph3r.as.ro/www.classic-gaming.net' instead of 'http://www.classic-gaming.net')

Terran and Eric, that has never happened to me. It says something about automatic redirection, but it takes me directly to the page.

Manic, I'm currently working on some customized banners and logos.

HillBilly, whoops! Right, I'm going to use spell check from now on and I'm also going to re-check the links.

The rest of the pointers I shall heed and the rest of the problems I shall fix. But I may miss something. This web site is an ongoing project. Think of it as beta testing. I need your feedback, guys.

Thanks.
- Dan.

PS: New site updated. Spelling should be fixed now. Links too. No more non-link underlines.

Update: I have completely changed the site. I've also added the games page and the prototypes, betas and what-not page. There is also a completed game there, with links, screenies and everything.

About redirection, I've heard that people with Internet Explorer can have difficulty reading it. Bummer. I use Opera myself and it works fine. I guess it's because I used Front Page Express 2.0 to make the site and, aparently, Opera is the only browser that can read code that old properly  :-\. But then again, I've heard people with IE that have no trouble at all with it...

Anyway, any criticism (constructive, of course) and pointers and such I would appreciate. Also, if you downloaded the game, anything you have to say to me about it, post it here, 'cause I don't want to start another thread about it and use up anymore big blue cup space.

Thanks,
- Dan.
