That was excellent. Wonderful mix of nostalgia and sarcasm.

So, what's so freaking special with Oregon?

Nothing. Quite boring actually. No idea why all these people wanted to get there. The rafting at the end was fun, though. Maybe that was the reason...

I think it had something to do with the gold rush? Not sure, maybe Darth Mandarb can hit us up with more info....since he's all book-learned on history....

I didn't have any probs getting to oregon either, played twice. First time played a doctor and everybody died except one of my "crew". Second time I played the hardest setting and made it to Oregon with everybody alive...It's pretty basic once you get the jist of it....

Right now I can drive to Oregon in about an hour, and it dosen't seem that great to me either....

Well, the Oregon Trail was not so much a route to Oregon as it was to the entire western frontier... I mean, yes, it ended in Oregon, but not everyone went the whole way. So, really, nothing was special about Oregon.

The Oregon Trail runs through the town where I live. It's an old settlement where Pottawattomie Indians were taught Christianity by the missionaries. Legend has it, that the Mother of God appeared to a young Indian child and promised to protect the town from tornados. Soon after the town was dedicated/named after her: St. Mary's.  And to this day none have. I know, I've been living here since I was 13 years old... I'm now 30.

If you like that article about OT, you'll dig this article (http://www.progressiveboink.com/archive/oregontrail.htm) a billion times more.

Yeah, House is a great show, definitely my favorite show of the current TV season. I find House (the character) just hilarious!
