Title: Ripping graphics from my own AGS game?
Post by: Meowster on Wed 25/02/2009 13:21:15
Hey all,

I long ago lost all the files used to create my AGS game so I only have the finished game left. I need to rip the sprites/backgrounds from this game quite urgently. Anybody got any advice on how I could go about this?

I tried searching the forums for similar questions but can't find anything, even though I'm sure someone must have asked this before....

PM CJ. He may be able to recover some of your game materials.

Yeah, CJ has said in the past he theoretically can retrieve graphics from a compiled game. It's just a matter of leverage... Fosters works good for that.  :P

:o LGM I honestly cannot believe you just proposed taking a crowbar to CJ as a method of convincing him to rip Yuf's graphics. Seriously man, what the hell?

How else is CJ supposed to open the crate of Fosters you give him?

Monkey, if the game contains nu... er... good pictures of Yufster herself we don't even need a crowbar.

Either that or extract the graphics with lots of print screens and a bit of photoshopping :)

Now this is the classic "first thought" method that is ineffective, long, difficult and utterly painful, but sometimes inevitable.  ;D
