Ripping Images

I'm thinking about working on some art for a potential space quest fan game, but before I do it, I need to know how to rip the image files from the games, particularly the VGA games and SQ6. Is there a program that will let me view and extract the graphics? I don't really intend to use them in the game, but they'd be very useful for study.

I am sorry if this is the incorrect forum, but I was not sure if this was a proper technical question forum question as it is not AGS related
