I didn't really buy a lot of indie titles; I usually pick the indie ones up during a bundle for fairly cheap, so I can't pretend any moral superiority or anything, but I wonder how much of it goes towards the developers? I know in the HIB you can choose how you split it...
From what I've been told and have researched, Steam takes 25%.

All you lot are buying indie games, while I seem to have bought nothing but AAA titles

That's all I used to buy during sales, but I'm at a point where I already own most of the AAA titles that I'm interested in. Plus, it's getting harder to find AAA titles that don't require some outside DRM hassle (Origin, uPlay, etc.) which makes buying them on Steam (since they don't use Steamworks) seem a bit pointless.

Most EA and Ubisoft PC titles eventually turn up at GameStop for less than twenty (in some cases less than ten) euros, anyway. I picked up Mass Effect 3 for 9.99, and over the weekend I bought Assassins Creed III Freedom Edition...thing...for 24.99.

One great side-effect to dedicating all your free-time for five years to making a game is the big backlog of games to play when you're done.  I used to get super psyched by game previews and buy them full-price day of release.  Now, I've got 5-years worth of reviews, word-of-mouth, and hindsight to help me play only games I think are worth it.

Plus, all the games are now deeply discounted.  I haven't payed more than $15.00 for a AAA game since.  Some of the games aren't even that old.  Just snagged Dishonored during the Steam Sale for around $10.

I feel like a phony.  All you lot are buying indie games, while I seem to have bought nothing but AAA titles (and a few Wadjet Eye Games...)

Nah, Wadjet is still indie. You're safe and sound!
