Hi everyone.
Last night and this morning I have been experiencing problems accessing this beloved site.
I went to my favourites tab and clicked on "Adventuregamestudio.co.uk" as I usually do and was sent to a totally different site
of the same name where microsoft informed me that it was a suspicious site.
It said that it could be a "PHISHING" site.
There were links there to access a download of "AGS 3.0" and this is the only way I have been able to get back here.
Has anyone else experienced problems.

Jay.

Well thats just peachy.
So now thats the death of AGS cos yet again Microsoft will balls thing right up.
A product that was easy to get to grips with and enjoyable may now be getting just a bit to complicated.
And yet again money is the root of all EVIL!! :(

Not that my opinion will count for much but I think It was fine the way things were and it's a shame thing have to change. :'(

SSH

MS tools are great to develop with. You may not like MS stuff, but actually it makes it much easier to develop AGS games in future. With the addition of Silverlight support, it could also mean that AGS runs on lots more platforms, e.g. Windows Mobile

SSH.
O.K. now I know whats going on.
But there are things I don't understand "Silverlight" being just one. What the hell does it do and is it worth me downloading it yet?
And "Windows Mobile" sorry but I don't know what this is either. ::)
You see all I have been interested in is plodding along with my game in the hopes of someday posting it for the good people of AGS to
play and now it looks like I might not be able to. Is this so?

By the way. Why is microsofts phishing filter telling me that this site is suspicious?  It never used to.
Is anyone else getting this or just me?

Silverlight - the answer of Microsoft to Adobe Flash
Windows Mobile - an operating system for mobile devices (another example - Symbian OS)...
About the posting of games...Yeh, I was hoping to do this one day too...It would be great if you can get critics and suggestions and improve it...But now...I don't know...
I am a mighty pirate. Arrrrgh!

Basically for AGS to run in the future you will need to download, run install and subsequently delete anything that is listed on the AGS site. You should probably buy an XBox 360 as well, just to be sure.

The site is only "suspicious" because it is new and hasn't been approved with Microsoft's "Microsoft UltraSafeNetcheck" (TM) software to ensure that it is safe. Of course, to ensure it is safe you must first install "Microsoft UltraSafeNetcheck" (TM) and fill in all the details.

Hope that helps!

I have installed Microsoft UltraSafeNetcheck and then Norton started complaining about rootkits and trojans but I just ignored that - it always does that.
But now my computer does not want to start up again! :o It says something like "ZeroCore Server on IP 208.192.190.86 - connecting" and then the screen goes black. We still have the internets, because I am writing this on my sisters PC. Please Help!1!!

Can we still release commercial games with the old versions of AGS?

Will this forum die?

I talked to one of the beta testers.

Miez: did you phone tech support? I usually find them most helpful!

So then it's probably true that any games made with AGS(the latest version before the unbranded one comes out) will no longer be able to be distributed, nor will any games made with AGS and that the AGS 3 engine is basically history?

I cannot find the tech support telephone number. I have downloaded "Microsoft UltrasafeNetcheck with toolbar extensions" from this website.
My sisters PC is much better - it has no Norton! Maybe I will install "Microsoft UltrasafeNetcheck with toolbar extensions" on her PC as well.

Of course, they want to make MONEY! Or at least, that's what the drunken beta tester said.

The phone number is on the back of the box! Unless you downloaded the free version. Then you will have to phone them up to get the boxed version so you can get the phone number. But anyway, yeah, you should definitely uninstall Norton (and any anti-virus software!)

Some people still seem to think this is an April fools joke but I think they need to look at the evidence and realise it's probably not.

Never mind, I know think it may be a joke, the temp homepage is only to be used for 24 hours, there's no downloads to any new engine and no mods have confirmed its true.
