Well i was just wondering whats happened to the good old days, not that mind all the new things here but i found AGS back in the day, 2005-2007 i think it was and ive been missing the olden, it seems like alot of creators from that period and chatters games as as well have disappeared, I droped by a few of their profile and some of them havent logged back in since 2006 ne way i suppose that some of them have grown up and moved on with their lives but is there anyone still here who misses and or remembers the old days, are you feeling nostalgic lik me??

Ive just noticed a difference since back when Tribleys Notes, 7 days a stranger, that one music quest.... I will say a tale of two kingdoms was brillant and that definatly takes me back however it seems like alot of game creators are on hiatous or have moved on.

Ne way I hope this generates a few reply's im just curious.

Self-referential jokes about "how nostalgia threads on the forums aren't as good as they used to be" aren't as good as they used to be.

I've been around since 2002, back when we were on EZBoards. And yeah, a lot of the "elders" seem to have moved on. Even the newbies that, had they remained, would be moderators now, aren't even around.

Is it me? Does my body odor offend?

Hehe, I've been here since 2003 :/ Not as far back as the EZboards, but six years is still pretty long o_O

Man, AGS boards have had some pretty good times :D

Shane 'ProgZmax' Stevens

I've had an account since around 2000 and I'm still around...

Maybe it is time for me to disappear as well?  You know, just to legitimize the whole 'all the old people are leaving' running gag that I hear every year?  :=

magintz

Not to be a pedantic but unless your account says "transferred from ezboard" I doubt you can reminisce about the good old days :P Now those days were magical. But I do agree that times have changed and the community has expanded a lot since those days.
When I was a little kid we had a sand box. It was a quicksand box. I was an only child... eventually.

Maybe this isnt coshure to ask, i dont think i can even spell it rite.....lol but there was a member Miss chelle? somthing like that and i remember alot of guys tried to romance her one guy in particular created a game with her in it as a character.

Ne way, I move to australia, then i picked up a bug in australia and somone stole my computer as well so i lost track of things when i got back to the state because i was sick i was stuck in the hospital for awhile then i logged back into here maybe thats when i finally created an account......

ne way, did anythign ever become of that romance? anyone get married? lol maybe its just a stupid question though but i feel a little like it was some strange soap opera back then and ive missed the ending of it.

You can just ignore this question if im way off and asking things i should remain quiet about.

Erenoth dude, you should get your keyboard checked out... I think a few keys are broken. There seems to be a macro replacing 'any' with 'ne' as well. :P

AGS Class of 2003. Yay!!  :)

And it's spelled "kosher", as in the Jewish set of dietary laws. Ever see that circled "U" on food products, and/or the word "Pareve"? That signifies kosher food. And it entered the English language in another meaninĂ¢â‚¬"

Oh, screw it. "Coshure" sounds cooler. ;D

magintz I think you might be taking things a bit far. I mean, sure those of us who weren't around "back in the day" of the EZ Boards missed out on an amazing time in the life of AGS (both the program and the community). But I've been around a mere five and a half years now and I feel pretty confident that I have a right to say, "I remember the good old days..."

People always talk about how things have changed and they're just not the same as they used to be. Well here's a funny thought: maybe they aren't the same because they changed. :P

Time and people change. Not everything today is going to be the same as what it was years ago. I know that I for one am a far different person than when I first joined the forums. Life can do that to you.

So yeah, we all get to think back and remember what it was like when we first started with AGS. I for one personally remember when gMenu.Visible = false; was InterfaceOff(MENU);...and then GUIOff(MENU);. I remember when AGS had the Interaction Editor for scriptless scripting. I remember when Ashen was active on the forums and he was a cool guy who didn't afraid of anything even when some trolling n00b would come along and accidentally the whole thing!

Each of us has our own stories, our own history (or herstory) of how AGS has impacted our lives. Saying "what happened to the good old days" is honestly a bit close-minded and thick-headed though. Things change. That's life. Especially in a community as dynamic as this one; based around something as ever-changing and dynamic as the AGS editor which Chris works tirelessly to improve for us! Even though things may not be the way remember them, the editor changes, the community loses a member and gains 27.3 more (1 of which remains active more than a single month). It happens.

Oh and by the way Erenoth the irony of you "fail[ing] grammer" slays me. It really does.

stupid txt-style spelling killing my ares and making them into rs. I mean...ugh!

In other words, one day today will have been one of the good old days, even though it is currently only a mere average new day.

Or something.  8)

No Monkey, Magintz is being totally fair. ezboard, The problem with Yahtzee, those were the good old days.
I am Jean-Pierre.

Yea it slays me to........... grade school teacher didnt think grammer was important so he threw it out the window, i ended up in highschool clueless so they decided to put me in the special class, i spent my higschool english classes with interesting people who rocked back and fourth, made loud noises, had strange quirks, the teacher had finally had enough of it so she just sat behind her desk and smoked. Oh the memories....................... perhapse it would make a good parody game..... some of the hijinks i got myself into to keep entertained in that class.

Andail

Yay, nostalgia threads. I remember my first nostalgia thread like it was yesterday!
