Well, I saw this and went l LOL.

A) Because of the sprite jam.
B) That they think its dead, I agree that the fact of the matter is adventure is indeed become a niche market, however, is it not true that adventure still finds place in the heart of the major popular titles today?

I look at Half Life 2 for example.

Where you have to use some logic to place bricks on a board to make a sufficiently weighted platform to jump of off to get to another section.

I think that anytime your doing pretty much anything and having conversation following a plot and solving some sort of puzzle, your adventuring.

I also am glad that companies still invest in adventure games, less action and alot more story and puzzles added to the game. Eg: CSI series these games when turned to expert mode have there moments of hair pulling and eye scratching ;)

Then with Telltale games, doing Sam & Max that makes me happy too. I haven't yet played the game nor do I know whether or not its out yet. But the fact is I will play the game, and support the company by buying the product.

For one I agree that these titles may not make a billion dollars, (who knows) but obviously they are making enough to sustain the business enough to release sequels. (The last CSI being completely 3d)

The end of this article was awesome, and mainly the reason I probably posted this thread.

Anyway, I hope indeed you all enjoy the read.  :P

Cheers,

Afflict.
