Howdy.
For the last few weeks I have been working on a webcomic, one strip of which was in the Crit's Lounge.
Now, as much as i would like to buy a domain name, it's out of the question because:
a) $5 Aus. a week is kinda piddly and
b) I doubt my parents would allow it.
So, i am torn between two domains.
Either tripod, or .TK
So.
Anyone care to voice their opinions on this one?
Cheers,
Fluke.
.tk, obviously.
Would you want to type screen7.copororate.unitedkingdom
or flukeblake.company every time?
No!
.tripod sounds silly.
There are loads of free web hosting providers, and I think there's been plenty of threads about them before. You may find that for publishing your artwork, that something like deviantart is best...
Well, if it's just a domain, it's like 5 bucks for a year.
The only deviant i have with .tk is that the small population of people who know nothing about the internet yet alot about official country '.'s might think i am Tokelauan(sp).
While, admittedly, this is not a huge problem or even a problem at all, if your site was at .fr and you weren't french, well you get the idea.
And while deviantart may be good, i'm really going for a more comicstrip/blog/ramblings etc., as opposed to a fully art site, like Tim Buckley and Ctrl+Alt+Del. I Love's me some Ctrl+Alt+Del. Back on topic.
m0ds, i agree with you in theory, it is a lot easier to simply type a shorter url.
What exactly are you looking for? A deviant art type image storage? You could just make a www.flickr.com account or a www.photobucket.com account and make it public.
www.GoDaddy.com domains for $1.99.
??yes??
I would think I would go for .tk if I was you..
wasnt tim buckley jeff buckley's dad?
Actually, if they would have you, I'd recommend Keenspot. It gives better exposure.
