Title: Using AGS for Mad TV
Post by: blunder1983 on Wed 15/06/2005 00:45:22
Hi guys,

I'm thinking of doing a remake of the awesome game, Mad TV. I had close to zero artistic talent so I'll need help (luckily its not many screens). I'm curious as to if it can be done on AGS. I think it is a pretty decent platform for the conversion but i'm not sure.

Thanks,

Chris

I guess it could be done, though it'd need a lot of scripting, probably so much it might as well be done as a pure c++ program, but who am I to enforce my opinions on others.

I've always wanted to see a decent Mad TV (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/mad-tv) remake. The original was so buggy and crashprone I could never get very far. If you think you're up to it then go for it.

Just be prepared for a lot of work. A lot!

Wow that looks amazing. I'll leave it to the proffessionals :D I'm a total novice to this lark so I think I'll make something simple first and then make it a little more complex later.

Thanks for the link.

Hi!, my opinion is that you should develop it anyway ... or try to help them in the actual game (ask if you can).
I used to play that game some time before, it would be very interesting to play it again one of this days .... or to make a remake.... but well, it's your decition.

I'd be very happy now if the game wasn't in German...

Anyhow, funny coincidence, I have thought about the possibility of making a game like Mad TV with AGS too.

Well, I'd be up for forming a team to give it a crack. Its not TOO heavy on the gfx side so hopefully we could get some artists prettty easy. I've been looking at various FAQs and similar and its all VERY confusing so I'd need lots of help on the programming side. The descriptions of stuff such as films and series etc. is where i can contribute most :D

I think the remake is making it rather complicated to play and the magic of Mtv may be lost. If anyone wants to help me design a concept of the gameplay and then form a team to create it then that'd rock.

Oh and I have offered my English skills on the TV gigant website but not had a response yet. Teaching English is me job so I should be able to help even without any practical knowledge of German :D

Cool. I love that game.
But why call it MAD TV? Why not use the same gameplay but come up with an original name for the Tv station like 'Uber-spiff studios.inc'...

Sounds like someone is up for helping. Offer ur services and u can have a creative input into nming the game.

MadTV will always be associated with the mag neway so it needs a name change.
