What do you like to put on a sandwich?

Whats the craziest things you put on a sandwhich.

I rememberf back in my university days....a long time ago now, when my student grant had just come in I remember:

1) frying mince with some onions
2) added a bolognese sauce to the mix (as if I was making spagbol)
3) oven cooked some onion rings
4) threw the saucy mix on my toast
5) added a cheese slice on top of that
6) added my onion rings ontop of the melted cheese

It was very messy and pretty darn tasty although the onion rings didn't work too well; to confess I did have to eat this with a knife and folk.

I like a bit of this post smells very trollish to me on wheat toast with a slice of cheddar cheese.

Questionable

I don't eat crazy sandwiches. But I like them. My favorite is:

Toasted Sourdough+Cream Cheese+Cucumber Slices+Micro Greens or/and Bean Sprouts+Salami or/and Turkey

Avocado Slices are Optional

Captain Ricco

ham, eggs, cheese(melted), corn if handy, potato chips whatever kind of meat leftover from lunch, and of course some lettuce and tomatoes, cause i have to stay in shape

Calin Leafshade

Cheese.

Sometimes if I'm feeling a bit crazy i might have ham.

Banana and ham??? crazy shit Ben. I'll have to try that Questionable - I live off sandwiches so its nice to get new ideas. Sorry if this seems like a trollish post....I actually didnt know what that was until I googled it...this is the first time I've really used a forum (no joke!)

On a side note Sandwich unrelated; Fried egg in tomato soup is also worth trying especially if the egg yoke is still runny; its not all that pleasant to look at but it goes down well, and cheese and union crisps with strawberry jam (jelly for the Americans). Youd think thats disgusting but by god that's good too.

1. Olive Bread (bread with olives baked into it).
2. Thin layer of mayonnaisse over it.
3. Sliced cheddar/gouda cheese.
4. Peppered ham.
5. Tobasco sauce.

Then I'm in sandwich heaven. I'm also a bit like Arthur Dent when it comes to making sandwiches - utter perfection. ;D

Banana and ham.
What, no vegemite?  ;D  ;)

I might try Phemar's and Borg's recipes, although some sound a bit too much work for what I usually consider a sandwich meal time.

Here's the sandwich I just ordered from work (and I order it once a week since I love it):
Omelet, Sweet potatoes, tomatoes, pickles, pine nuts, barbeque sauce and tomato paste.

It doesn't get any better than that...

Scarab

I haven't had it in a sandwich in a while, but peanut butter and sliced banana are a good combo. They're also great on toast.

I lol'd :=

I like Fish sticks, then cherry tomato's cut in half with cucumber and garlic mayo in Tiger bread baguette.

Also props to Mark for the Bolognese, that stuff's killer sandwich material (but requires too much cleaning to be a true ultimate sandwich).

Questionable

Sliced Boudin Balls + spicy red bean mash + dirty rice + strips of grilled chicken = Cajun Potbelly

A snack/meal involving two or more slices of bread (or 1 slice folded over) cannot legally be called a sandwich unless it has some sort of sauce/spread, at least 1 slice of cheese, and some sort of salady thing.

I usually sauce my whole wheat with mustard and chilli-garlic sauce. And emental if I can get it.

Other than that, I usually put in whatever combination of the following I have:
lettuce, cucumbers (especially pickles), tomatos, onions (if I don´t plan to be meeting up with anyone immediately after :D), mushrooms, olives
sausages, salami, roast beef
pepper, basil, oregano.

Recently I´ve come into a situation where I´m eating sandwiches everyday for dinner, and can only use stuff that doesn´t need to be cooked in any way.
So it is mustard, barbeque sauce, dill pickles, cheese, lettuce, pickled chilli peppers, doritos and oregano (and mushrooms for a while).
