Title: What do you think of this plan hosting?
Post by: Candle on Sat 26/11/2005 12:00:16

Internet For All is still offering our $12 per year domain hosting plan!

For $12 per year you will receive:
500 MB disk space
20 GB per month data transfer

Each hosting plan includes 24/7 LIVE technical support at no additional charge. Submit a ticket using our Web console, and a reply will be posted within 10-15 minutes. Our support team can help with not only emergencies, but general questions on our console or hosting services. Have a question? Ask any time!

In addition, you will receive the following at no additional charge:
FTP access
Web-based file upload and management
Unlimited E-mail accounts, aliases, and autoresponders
PHP
CGI
SSI
FrontPage Extensions (if needed)
1 mySQL database
Password-Protected Webstats
Webmail
Spam filtering on all E-mail accounts
Unlimited Subdomain hosting (subdomains share disk space with the domain) Subdomains can have their own FTP username and password
Password-Protected Web directories
Block website access by IP address

Again, the yearly plan is $12 per year. No signup fees, and no hidden fees. This is NOT an introductory offer! We accept Paypal and checks/postal money orders.

We also offer a monthly hosting plan priced $2 per month to try our services. The monthly hosting plan offers the same features as our yearly hosting plan. Try our services on the monthly plan, then change to the yearly plan at any time!

Go to http://www.internetforall.com to read more about our services, and to order online!
Once you sign up, you can begin using your Web account in less than five minutes after you place your order.
We accept Paypal, as well as checks/postal money orders.

We use a custom designed control panel, but we will be offering cPanel in January. cPanel hosting will include a $12 per year plan, with hosting on dual Xeon servers. We will also offer 24/7 tech support via e-mail, live chat, and toll-free (for customers in the US) live telephone support!

I think I will look at using them.

I don't know a lot about the internet yet, but this looks as a very good offer. And a question: If I make my website can I sign up with them for 12$ and have my website there? This is how it works?

Sure looks like you can . I think I will sign up oon the first of the month . I think I will be shutting my server down if I can get it that cheap, it cost me more then that for the elc I pay every month.

Well, if you're still going to offer hosting for other peoples games, as well as your own, that 500 MB might not get you all that far (depending, of course).

If I shut this one down and move I won't be offering any hosting.
The hosting I offer now is on my server here at home on my DSL .
I pay more every month at my ISP so I can run a server so that ten bucks could pay for the hosting there. lol
I may leave this server on to just host pictures etc.

If you do that you're just adding to your costs for no reason, pictures take little space/bandwidth (normally - depending where you're hosting them for). I'd go with leaving it all on one or moving to another.

Ya you could be right about that and this would make a nice dos game box to use for those games as my windows 2000 don't get it. lol
Funny I'm running windows ME for the server and it has an uptime of over 200 days right now. (:

You'd need a new OS, Windows ME has no DOS :(

Edit: By new, I mean old, of course!

It must as it plays everything I put on it.
Not one dos game has not play on it.

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. There is no way on earth that they can offer 20 GB/month data transfer to you for $1/month and be making any money at all, so chances are either it's a scam, or they'll go bankrupt before very long.

I found them here http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4&page=2&sort=threadstarted&order=desc
They have them as a Sticky.
And that forum is one of the best for hosting and website info.

I'd say don't try it. Or at least try 2 bucks a month, cause you'll be stuck with it for a year otherwise.

Sounds too good to be true if you ask me.

If you want a good deal, you should try GoDaddy's new hosting plan. (https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosting/shared.asp?se=%2B&ci=260)

I dunno it it includes a domain name, but those are only 9 bucks a year through Go-Daddy.

Alternatively, you can use http://www.honestnetworks.com. They're not coporate, but the technical support is the fastest, most helpful I've ever had. They designed a plan just for me and now they offer it as a standard plan! Check out their personal plan, it's great. And I think now you can register a domain name through them.

For some reason I can never trust a business with "honest" in its name  ;)

I use godaddy for my domains so that would be a good deal.
Thanks for pointing that out to me.

I'm a big hostgator fan myself. Their "Baby" account is 9.95 USD a month, and has 5000 storage and 75 gig bandwidth.

I have a reseller account, with 10 gig storage and 100 gig bandwidth. I've had no problems with them in over a year, and they're very reliable and have good support.

This deal isn't so extraordinary. Bandwidth is the most expensive of the lot - storage is cheap. If a deal like that offers 500 megs and 20 gigs of storage - they probably don't expect you to reach 20 gig :p
