Personally I left #ags partly because of this reason here.

Boyd was ALWAYS in there, and discussions would always be in a vulgar manner.. And usually they were about nothing... Most things were based around Boyd's complaints.. It was like.. "Hmmm, what is Boyd going to bitch about today?"

I left soon after that, because I felt like I had better things to do then listen to demoralizing drivel. #ags used to be fun and filled with some pretty damn good topic pieces.. But then alot of people left, and soon #ags was filled with alot of new people I didn't know.. And then I just kinda fell away from it..

I dunno, I'm back now.. Maybe it's better now.. But stop fighting..

Boyd... Personally, I think this is a break for you.. Go outside and get some fresh air, maybe a tan. Find a woman... Maybe even a physical friend of some sort. It's apparent your social life is lacking, because of your rationale and way of thinking and overall lude behavior. #ags is not the only thing in life.. Sure, you'll miss it.. But there are way better things to do then sit and talk in a chatroom.

This all reminds me of one particular AGSer who isn't in the channel anymore. She would start arguments and just piss people off. I've even had to tell CJ about her personally. But now, incidentally, she's gone from the main #ags. And I'm glad. Her holier-than-thou attitude is surely not missed. And if the temporary banning of Boyd and Ultimo is bringing back elders, it had better not bring back this particular elder.

But this isn't about her. This is about other elders. I can think of at least one or two that are complete and utter assholes. Why aren't they banned?

i didn't only talk about genitals, and if i did it was because i started a conversation unlike the people that just sit around waiting for somebody to start one they can join, if you don't like what people are talking about you have two options, 1) ignore people, 2) start your own conversation.
and don't play the "well it can be pretty hard to when other people are talking" card, because i've heard that so many times from so many different people, and it's just stupid.
and LGM, you've been back to #ags since, and if i remember rightly (i have logs to check if needed) you have joined in with many of the so called vulgar discussions, as has AGA, he's even started them, and quite frankly i find some of the racist remarks he's made more offencive than any "porn" talk.
in the end it all boils back down to elitism, it's oldies vs. newbies, perhaps you should consider changing the #ags greeting message to "welcome to #ags, please leave your personality at the door as a suitable one will be provided"
or you could stop being whinging little ninnies that like to pretend they're grown up and more mature than they are, you can be mature AND have a sense of humour you know.

Terran, I'm afraid you are actually wrong here.  BOYD was a major part of the reason they left, most gave it a few months before they stopped coming.  I remember some told me this explicitly at the time.  Of course there were other factors, and I wouldn't try and pin the blame entirely on two people, but now those two are gone, the channel is definately more bearable for me,  there have been basically 0 conversations that I felt were offensive, and I'm sure for people who have a lower tolerance to such crap it's now worth coming back.
You seemed to get on with BOYD and OsUltimos, I didn't mind them sometimes, when they weren't going off on some nonsensical rant or talking about porn/genitals/shit, but accept that many other people were offended by them, and not unreasonably, this has always been a mature community, most members prefer it that way.
If people have a problem with the bans, then do take it up with me, I was the one who made them and not because I was asked by anyone else, but because I felt it was time.

And are all these "elders" returning because of their "departure".. Because, honestly, most of these people left before BOYD "existed", and now they just magically appear after this?

This does seem sort of elitist.. Punishing two people for the sake of bringing back the "good ol' days". I dunno, but it doesn't seem right..

But what it all comes down to, is I don't care either way. I don't need #ags.. I didn't need it when it was full of penis jokes, and I don't need it now that it's "good" again.. But it is a nice change.. And maybe I'll frequent the channel now.. Either way, I'm not mad at anyone. Feelings were hurt, yes.. But maybe this is for the better..

You know, it's true that all this is meaningly drivel and doesn't deserve argument. And yeah, maybe those two were the biggest problem. But LGM does bring up a good point. I've had a problem or two with AGA in the past and I've had my share of argument with him, as have others (more so than me...I've only argued with him once I believe). And of course AGA is safe from the finger-pointinig. Because he's an elder. Because he's an op. And because he is of the Elite. But its not just him. I don't mean to point a finger at just him. You guys claim that is not about elder vs. newbie. But it sure looks like it to me.
