Due to the sheer hilarity of it, I'm going to ignore that this is in the wrong forum, and you didn't have permission to start this. :=

Quote from: Studio3 on Fri 15/07/2011 00:43:33Hey you guys, I know you have at least heard of the Nintendo 64 in you time.

What? What's a NINTENDO SIXTY-FOOOOOOUUUURRRR!!1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFlcqWQVVuU)?

Quote from: Studio3 on Fri 15/07/2011 00:43:33If anyone in a session calls rematch then that is fine. You can call a rematch as many times as you want however the last full match is what you will use to determine who wins the trophy.

Holy Almost Batman WHAT THE--? ;D

You can call an infinite number of rematches?

That's it! I totally call dibs on being the first to call rematch until you all let me win!! 8)

This is in the correct forum though (unless it is moved here before I discover it), and you don't need permission to start activities here.

However, don't post links to ROM images here. We don't want to get into troubles.

Opps I almost forgot about that. And yes this is in the right forum because if I started this over there then it would have got locked. :(

Also if I find other Emulators that use online then I will try them as well but right now the 64 is the most newest so I rather use that.

rematch = Restart the battle, restart race, etc... You have to play the game for it to count. :=

As the canonical creator of the Oceanspirit Denniverse, I require a FEE for hosting Oceanspirit Dennis games.
The current fee is $4600USD per minute.

So atm you owe me just over $33120000USD, just for hosting the canonically first Oceanspirit Dennis game. We will discuss other Oceanspirit Dennis games after I have collected this FEE.
You can pay through paypal, PM me your paypal email and I will send you the bill!

@Dualnames:

I require a FEE for being asked to help create the canonically first Oceanspirit Dennis game and utterly failing to respond to the request.
The current fee is $33120000USD per second.

So atm you owe me just over $91570176000000USD.

But, are we supposed to constantly change those icons or what? Seriously, how do you come up with this stuff? You keep shoehorning "cool feature" of X into Y, although Y isn't cut out for having it.
I mean, just that code thing in your game alone, why even bother to put random characters in the code if everybody is going to end up with the same code anyway? Why even have a code if everybody gets the same additional download for free anyway?
It boggles my mind.

Oh you me the DLC, Free DLC vs $ DLC.

Free ones are not as great as the full ones. Free ones will be limited as well & also shorter the $ DLC. The free ones are more of a short quest that will allow you to gain money or maybe even new attacks for the original game once completed.

$ DLC are have different lengths however they will be as good as the original game. They work the same as the free DLC however there is better prizes for completing the DLC.

I hope that clears things up. Also yes you will have too update your post manually however you only need to make 1 post and just change the dot that like I did on my post.

The only thing being that your games aren't even worth paying for in the first place. Not to mention your marketing for that is terrible. "Paid DLC is pretty much the same thing, just longer." That ONLY WORKS WHEN YOUR GAME IS GREAT AND TAKES HOURS TO COMPLETE.

I remember when I was buying DLC packs for Guitar Hero 3 on my Xbox 360. I got more songs, which isn't much. No new characters, or new gameplay elements. However, the main game itself was GREAT and ADDICTING, so I was willing to shell out money for new songs, despite how the game was aging. Your game, although improved from your earlier games, is still not worthy of this option. I've said it before; no one is going to pay for your game.

On topic - I'd pwn you at SSB, or Mario Kart. I am king.

My my, you think my game is not worth it? I must say sir that my game isn't complete there for there can not be no judgement based my game as of yet. Sure I am making other games right now but that's only to build my skills. :=

If you like the game and you think it's good then you might want to buy the DLC which will only be like $1 for a new character or $2 for a new quest. This is what people will do.  ;)

On topic - hows about you try it :D

It boggles my mind.

To paraphrase: the download of your latest game included a file called "pass3.png" which contains a code ("248N-VBL4-...").

Now I'm aware why professional game companies do this; they have lots and lots of different DLC and also use an algorithm to generate that code and on top put a unique code in every download/box.
None of this is the case with your "game". So why even have random characters in that code; it's pointless and again a desperate attempt to mimic a professional publisher. Why you are still doing this is what I don't get.
Also the "product registration card" talks of registering the game at this forum, which of course isn't possible.

It's not just pointless but ridiculous. Also, LOL at your facebook page, in terms of "working for/with Square Enix".

This is something I would like to try as it is something new to AGS that I have yet to see any one of you try. So far Monkey could have done it if he had thought of it first :=.

If someone helps me then I would like to take what they have shown me and put it to good use. When Dualnames helped me with setting up the online server in PMQ2 I was so happy and thank full but it got canceled due to it's complete failure. That is another reason as to why I haven't dropped the online part of PMQLegend because I know it can be successful. And I am aware of that however that has been there for some time I think before OSD was born. However I see no harm in dreaming. As a matter a fact that is how I met this person who might be doing 3D rendered cut scenes for PMQ legends.

btw, they are aware that I don't work for Square as I told them. ;)

You should seriously be a business advisor or something.

"What's that? Your new software cost you several billion dollars and was a total and complete failure? You should resell the exact same software with a different name on it. It will be a huge success!"

Logic: it applies here.

I didn't remake the same thing. Last time I used that aggravating TCP plugin. The things I can do now with Wyz's plug in is what I wanted but couldn't do before.

The PMQ2 game got changed around so much that it took me to get room 40 to actually figure out what I was going to do to make it. But the game started to run too slow so I just canceled it.

#I said you could have done it because you were the one that gave me the code, However I did think of adding it first. Run too slow? Meaning what? You sound just like me when I was trying to make games. I basically got an idea in my head, and tried to make a game from it, and the end result EVERY time?

I had no story, no dialog, no idea HOW or WHAT to use for art/characters/sprites, so what I have now are about 15 incomplete "ideas" taking up hard drive space.

Look at every thread I've posted here about some game I was making. You will never find a complete game, and it's because of what I said earlier. All of those threads end similar to this:

Hey everyone due to difficulties (school, boredom, pr0n) I can't make super awesome adventure: the search armageddon reloaded resurrection part 5 and 3 quarters. Sorry  :'( :'( :'(

Even worse, half of those projects.... if you were to load them up in the editor, you would find absolutely nothing. No sprites, no rooms, no scripts. Just a title of a game. I feel bad about it too, because one of my projects actually had some reception and support from the community, but it was just me hashing sh*t together.

I had a story set for PMQ2 however I had to change it up so much due to the fact of what little stuff I knew how to do in AGS. Sure I could have gone back and took off those rooms other rooms but I thought I might mess up the game.

The online thing will be a lot better because before I wanted to have players venture together through the game like an MMO however I was just speaking out the ASS I didn't know how to do all of that. I can do that & more now however I just want it to be simple and have the story part as a single player with 4 people to control.

There are tones of things in there that will make you want to keep this on you HDD.

Thanx for the best of luck part, I can't drop this I already have it in my game and I can't take it out so if it's there it's there. I can't risk another PMQ game that's a fail. 2 is enough. :-\

That you want.

One player character.

To be controlled.

By four people.

Over the internet?

;D

Yes. Best. Idea. Ever.

Also, I love how inoperable the cancer of including things in PMQ games is. "OH NO! I ACCIDENTALLY INCLUDED A VIRUS IN ALL OF THE PMQ DOWNLOADS...oh well, it was probably meant to be. Once it's in there, there's no way I can take it out." :=

Ok I think I said that part backwards. I want one player to switch through 4 characters as they progress through the game. However I really wanted a 4 player online co-op game. However it's to hard to get that so I dropped that part. Ooh look I took a really good part out of because I knew it would fail if I try to do it.  :=

I KNOW THAT. I asked if YOU had a kaillera server? How are you going to host games without one? If we're meeting in some room then screw it.

Also, I might add that if anyone here hasn't used a kaillera client before, it sucks. Not only is it bland, but it's slow, and even for people to play together, they have to have the same settings as each other to work.

Don't get me wrong; it still works great for playing games. But pinging servers all the time is slow, and why offer a choice of different settings if they only work when everyone else is using them?

I mean you guys get mad at me as if I was as smart as monkey or Khris when it comes to AGS. But the opposite so like I am just to lazy to go through and fix every thing including change every want to wan't. I am not like that.

You. can't. be. serious.

OF COURSE it is spelled "want"!!!
But you spelled it with an apostrophe all the time!
Not the other friggin' way around.

And I only bothered to correct this in the first place because you did spell it correctly until a few months ago and then started to spell it "wan't" all of a sudden.

Give us your insightful, meaningful prose on that one.

Stupid threads aren't allowed in this forum, and if anyone has any sense they'll realize this is beyond stupid. Your brain may be so fucked up you feel you can come here and tell us to talk about anything in an attempt to give yourself airtime but I for one am done with your shit. You're making this community, and some of the good people here - a joke. Go away!

Ooooh the ghost of icey has return.

Really, you think I want to change any one our AGS? If anything the way I think of it AGS was already the way it is now due to what that troll topic told me. But before I start saying anything big why do you share your reason as to why this thread is stupid?

And that first part was not even remotely funny. I mean who says something like that as a joke?

That's odd, not only is the text gone but so is the post?

You manage to make a garbled, unintelligible mess out of 3 (4) short lines.

You are "better of saying."?

This is why I have no patience when dealing with you anymore. You just don't give a crap about basic netiquette.

And yeah, welcome to the internet, mods is a moderator and can edit any post however he likes.

I bet you will only address that last line (or maybe not because I've added this line).

What. The. Hell.

You. Cannot. Be. Serious.

I was actually going to try and defend you a little bit (for once), but this is just ridiculous. How can you expect me to believe that you "check [your] post twice" when you say things like "put up with due to how my post come out" and "I will start check my post twice"??

You need to seriously consider taking some remedial English courses, immediately. I'm not trying to be rude, but it is obvious you have not got the slightest clue how the language is supposed to work. Honestly.

This thread started off with a reasonable enough goal. You wanted to be able to play some games online with some of us here. That is obvious from the way you design your games, your insistence on trying to include "multiplayer" as a feature in your games, your incessant talking about playing games online with us. We know that's what you want out of life, is to play games online. That's not a bad thing, but there's a lot more to life than that, so don't be crushed just because we don't all share that same goal all of the time.

I enjoy playing games online, but it doesn't drive my life. It's not my passion. A lot of people around here probably feel similarly to me in that regard.

And just before this thread gets locked, I'm going to post this and hopefully edit it with the rest of my reply.

Edit: So, as I was saying, this thread started off with a reasonable enough purpose. I laughed about it, and I said my peace because it seemed typical of the type of behaviour you typically display.

From there the thread derailed because, as I said, very few people around here are really as passionate about online gaming as yourself. Actually, I'd venture so far as to say that none of us are as passionate about it as you.

Pair that with the mentioned fact that Kaillera is, apparently, relatively slow compared to other gameplay methods. I've never used it so I can't speak with any authority on this matter, but for those who have it might be extremely relevant (presuming that the statements that have been made are in fact accurate).

To top this all off, you don't even have a Kaillera server set up, as you've only just recently revealed. This late in the thread, that information in particular seems extremely relevant.

In any case, you're right that this thread shouldn't have been allowed to go as far off-topic as it did. But the derailment was perpetuated almost exclusively by the fact that I don't think anyone even showed up to play along with you.

There was a point at which I felt perhaps people were speaking a bit too harshly toward you. The problem though is that nothing gets through to you. We don't comment on your grammar to try and mock you, at least that's not how it started out. Several people have tried to help you understand why what you're doing is wrong. Several times we have told you "this word is spelled '...' not '...'", and the like. It has apparently had little-to-no effect. So the people trying to legitimately trying to help you have gotten tired of their apparently meaningless efforts, and said efforts have devolved into the state we find ourselves at now.

This is not a new problem here. This is not something that happened overnight. This has been a long and on-going process, that has been on a downward spiral for a very long time. You must understand that, I implore you.

Regarding your statements about a "new" Oceanspirit Dennis, let me assure you, as much as I and many of us here do in fact love the wonderful parody that is Oceanspirit Dennis, none of us, not a single person here wants a new Oceanspirit. That's not to say that we don't want someone to replace Dennis. Really, that wouldn't be an issue of concern at all. What I'm getting at is that Oceanspirit is the Boxxy of AGS. It hasn't gone to the same extreme (if you have no idea of Boxxy's history, you can Google it (http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=boxxy)), but the principle applies. There are those who love him, and those who hate him. There's little room in-between the two factions. But those who love him do so for one reason: because Oceanspirit Dennis is a way for all of us to laugh about a particular somebody who has absolutely no idea that he's being made fun of. The joke has its limitations though, and that is why nobody, and I mean nobody, wants another Oceanspirit.

Seriously, I don't know that this rant will in any way change anything. I don't know that you're going to be able to comprehend and take to heart my point well enough to be able to legitimately change anything. You swore in the aforementioned "troll thread" that you were going to change. You promised me personally that you were going to try. And consistently you have done the exact same things, you have exemplified the exact same behaviour that lead to that thread to begin with.

So understanding that this thread is not going to benefit you, consider this my official rationale, for everyone's behaviour toward you. You don't have the right to play the victim here. As much as I thought some of the posts were a bit extreme, the way you responded to them has justified them entirely. I'm sorry, but it has.

You were given an ultimatum. You were given the opportunity to change. You swore you would. You did not. This. Is. Your. Fault.

Finally put down simple life rules about moving on feet (27 years of experience, don't own a car or bicycle, lot's of hiking in really harsh conditions), some other notes too

* If distance between you and objective is about 1-2km or less, jog. You'll use about 150-200% of energy compared to walking there, but move 300% faster and get there three times quicker. Which improves mood also.
* If distance is longer, walk fast. Energy consumption is a bit higher, but you'll get actually tired quicker and more frustrated the more you take time to get anywhere
* If distance is around 500m and you don't have to move much more after that, sprint. travelling  close to 30km/h is awesome and you'll reach objective about 4-6 times faster than walking. Basically a difference between 5 minutes vs 1 minute, which sure does count when catching a bus or something. At that distance, you shouldn't get too tired and sweaty too, unless you're fat and totally out of shape. In which case, you should do it anyway. Just not before going into closed area with lots of people in it

In winter, if it's really cold, this is different:

* If there's heavy wind or biting cold, jog. Bad weather (and escpecially, wind) worns you down over time, not distance, so the faster you get into building, the better. Speed must be low enough so you'd won't go outta breath and get cold due heavy breathing.
* If temperature is around or less than -18°C, use your scarf to cover mouth, but not nose and breathe through nose. Breathing through mouth creates moisture into scarf, which will freeze and ruin your face (it goes red for 2-3 days and itch or "bite")
** If you have to rest/sleep in this weather in nature or something, make sure you cover your neck and ears, because otherwise you won't wake up. Also, drink a lot. If you have no scarf, boxers can double as makeshift scarf. If you wake up and have no will to move, punch yourself (it helps, adrenaline resets survival instincts). Heavy hypothermia does this (you just don't care anymore) and I'm thankful for my friend who snapped me out of this once and made fire
* If it's simply cold, but doesn't look like it will deteriorate your energy, walk. You don't need to perspirate in cold.
* In high snow, take all the time you need. Jogging or fast walking while snow is up to your knee is stupid and you won't get anywhere
* On ice, shoe-skating is both fun and more efficient than trying to walk on it
* Wet clothes in winter kill. You'll be FAR better without wearing clothes at all than wearing wet clothes. Fell into icy lake? Strip immediately.

And other notes

* In heavy rain, sprint. Despite what Mythbusters say, the faster you get out of rain, the better. Amount of water in your clothes usually matter less than time being under cold shower
* In light rain, walk fast. It can get worse any moment so better haul ass.
* In really light fog-like rain (we call it mushroom rain) during warm summer morning, take off your shirt and shoes and fuckin enjoy. It's greatest weather ever
* Being shirtless or adjusting pants zipper if you forgot it open (in public) is okay. People who look down to you or start screaming are idiots and never been to a beach
* When on stairs, take 2 steps at once. Taking only one will frustrate people who are NOT descendants of snails and makes you look old and slow
* 2m high 9 to 11-stair stairway can be easily scaled in 2 huge leaps (upwards) if you speed up last few steps before ascending and are under 30 years old. Never try it while descending unless you enjoy head trauma and broken bones

@Monkey: your right, I can't keep saying I got and I will change for the better of the community. But you know I do end up changing however their is all ways that one little joke that seems to mess me up. I don't notice it cause I get caught up in the whole me going back and forth with everyone.

I guess there is only one thing I can do to fix this and that would be to pay attention to every thing so I don't end up messing up.

Also another reason why I respond the way I did at times is so I don't blow up. I already made a promise that I wouldn't argue with someone if they are starting stuff so I tried to respond in a way that wouldn't later trigger me to get upset because of previous last comment.

@Increator+: When I first skimped through your post I wondered why you would post all of that. However the title does imply anything meaning nothing is off topic now.

I'm not quite sure what Increator is writing in response to, but it seems good enough advice. I wish I knew that when I was without vehicular transport for a couple of months...no idea how I'd have jogged in a big overcoat, though :D.

But seriously, what is up with all this Icey hatred?
Honestly, I don't really know Icey, I haven't played any of his games, or any of the games inspired by his characters, and I neither love, nor hate, nor overly care for OSD, and my only knowledge of him seems to be from what he says in these forums.

Monkey, as you say, the thread started off with a reasonable enough purpose, but then why were you one of the first to jump on his back and start gnawing (no hatred to you, monkey, but I find it funny considering the quote in your signature :P)?
I mean, discounting Icey's somewhat quirky writing style (and honestly, in a forum with so many international members, I've seen worse. It may be "funny" that his is bad considering he's from an english speaking country, but... is that reason to badger him even more?).

His request wasn't SO far out. People here collaborate very often to play online games. We have civ games, minecraft, we played trackmania, etc. Yet in some bizarre subversion of the concept of "trolls", the first relevant or even related response to the original point of his topic was somewhere in the middle of the 2nd page.

I'm certainly not "passionate" about online gaming, and while I have P64 installed on my computer, I'm not overly fond of either Mariokart or Super Smash brothers, I PROBABLY wouldn't join in on playing those, but I'm sure others would have fun. I've had my fun playing other online games here with other AGSers.

Perhaps someone interested could set up a server so that some like-minded people could enjoy themselves.

It wasn't the concept so much as the execution. I tried, through the use of my flamboyant sarcasm, to show him how it could possibly be improved into something more viable, but the point was missed entirely, as is so very, very often the case with him.

icey, I wasn't going to respond to you, except I have this burning desire driving me. I cannot suppress it. The revised subject of this thread does not imply "anything". It explicitly states "anything". That is all.

For the record, I don't dislike icey. I, against my better judgement, hold onto a hope that someday he will figure this all out. But for now, I just don't think that I have the ability or means to help him in that journey.

Uh, ok. Your posts are annoying to read. It's not just you're/your and their/they're/there, sometimes your sentences are mutilated so badly it takes me a few seconds to get what you want to say. It's really annoying, it stops the reading flow in its tracks (I'm a very fast reader) and it always strikes me as really obnoxious behavior on your part because I for one reread my posts before posting them in order to not annoy the hell out of other people and I expect the same from every other person in an internet forum, especially an American in an English forum.
So yeah, I'm sick of putting up with you mainly because of your posting style, no matter how unlikely, weird or funny you may find it.
I don't really care that you're living in a dream world in which SquareEnix will hire somebody who has only shown creativity when it comes to ripping off other people's works and can't even master their own first language, or that you put pics online that show you with FF hairdos drawn in top.
And I sure as hell don't care about being your friend, and not just because talking to you is like talking to a wall wrapped in lots of cotton and I have yet to see you actually say sorry for something you did wrong.

I don't even want to know how you post on other sites. Even worse than here?
You still don't understand that it is common courtesy to put some effort into making your posts readable.

You're still making excuses. "I'm a teen", "I forget", as if anybody would give a shit. Right, you are a teen, not a seven year-old or a senile old man, so get a grip instead of whining like a bitch. Don't tell us why you can't, tell us you'll friggin' man up and then actually do it.

Here's a post from 2004, when I was thirteen years old. It contains hardly any errors and I think it's rather relevant:

Quote
Now is the time when we come to ask ourselves "Where has this topic actually gotten us? Where emotionally? where physically?
Have we actually emotinally matured during the course of this topic? Are we actually any closer to the light than we were when this was started?"

Now compare that to your posts. I was 13, dude.

You're still making excuses instead of trying to resolve the problem. Do you not realize that this behaviour is what is perpetuating the entire problem to begin with? Do you honestly not realize that?

Saying, "I'm hip," instead of, "I know," is a little thing that we in the business of speaking the English language like to call slang. It varies quite vastly from inventing new ways of spelling words, leaving out words that make your sentences completely unintelligible, or randomly replacing one word with another (which although this could be slang, it's sort of not when you're the only one doing it).

You have said things such as:

Quotemen't

Quotewan't

Quotewont

Quote...you seem like don't get the fact...

QuoteI tend to write differently then I do here on other sites.

Quote...I can't keep saying I got and I will change...

Quote...because of previous last comment.

I'm not quoting you on these to try and mock you. I'm quoting you on these to implore you to understand why they are wrong. This is not slang. Although it does not follow the traditional rules of grammar, slang still follows rules. There is no rhyme or reason to anything you type or say. I don't understand it. I cannot fathom how you have come to be this way and cannot see what the problem is. I wish I could understand. I wish I knew what it was, but I don't. I just don't.

I really do, truly and honestly hope that whatever it is that has caused you to become this way can be dealt with whether the cure is simply a bit of time and maturity, or extensive remedial schooling, or whatever it may take. I hope for your own benefit that it can be overcome. This is not just some one-off typo. This is a major flaw in the way that you comprehend what is going on in the world around you*. I don't get it, but time and again this has been explained to you, and time and again it completely evades your comprehension.

All sarcasm, all joking, everything else aside, I seriously do not understand why this is so difficult for you. I just don't. And I wish you luck, because if you can't find a way to overcome this, I really do see a bleak future ahead for you. And that's not something I would ever wish on anyone.

I'm sorry man. But I simply do not get it. I simply do not understand.

*To be perfectly clear, this is not just a lack of understanding of grammar. This problem is bigger than that. It is an entire behavioral problem. There is something fundamentally wrong here, and if you don't know what I'm talking about, I beseech you to thoroughly examine the previous posts, not just in this thread, but over the past several months, and indeed years.

I frankly have never been so mindblown. LIKE EVER.

Also, since Khris and monkey and anyone that posted here, have been there and said the exact same things over and over and over, a question lies in my brain. Why are we doing this? Is there a benefit from repeating the same things, over and over? Isn't this already pointless? Why initially did you troll from post number one, his idea, even if it was shit. I mean, damn, you can't troll a person and then give him advice expecting him to take it.

I may as well be wrong, so disregard me completely.

I'm pretty sure that there's a rather significant difference between sarcastically pointing out the incredulous absurdity of someone's execution of an idea and actually trolling. I don't know, I could be wrong about that, but I don't feel that the tone of my original posts at the beginning of this thread genuinely constitute troll activity so much as just trying to get the kid to question how he was going about all this. It utterly failed either way. If it was trolling it failed because he wasn't offended; if it wasn't trolling, then it failed because he completely and utterly missed the point I was trying to make. So, either way, I failed here. I can admit that.

And perhaps you're right. We are saying a fair amount of the same things over and over (and over...). But yet it seems that every time we say them someone comes along immediately behind us just to say "WTF?!? Stop bashing him! I may not have any idea of the context of this entire scenario, but one thing is certain: you're being a total prick!"

Sometimes I am a sarcastic, snarky little prick who needs somebody to step in and tell me to back down. However, if I have honestly and legitimately tried time and again to actually help this person, at what point is it ever acceptable in your book to poke a bit of fun or to use a bit of sarcasm or to be a downright prick? I get the impression from you people that any form of criticism is the most abominable offense one could possibly commit aside from using some indirect measure such as sarcasm to try and achieve it.

I'm not trying to make a rationale for the times when I have legitimately been too short with people, which I have. I'm trying to understand why the hell I keep getting made out to be some predator waiting around to jump out from behind a bush on an unsuspecting forum member and bludgeon the bloody hell out of them. When did I suddenly become that person to you people? Time and again I have defended myself against these comments against my behaviour toward this, and perhaps a few other people, and time and again I have failed to have anyone seriously contest anything that I've said. So if you can't present a valid argument against the information in this and my last post, then what the hell is the problem here?

I am not going around looking to pick fights with people. I'm not going around trying to bring people down to make myself feel better about myself. I make snide and sarcastic statements when I feel it's called for because that's how I am, and personally I tend to find it rather funny on occasion. But honestly I'm getting tired of people trying to make me out as someone that's trying to bully icey just because he refuses to take the assistance that I keep (for some reason) trying to offer him.

Again, I swear I'm not specifically picking on you or anything, you're just as weird (:P) as anyone else here on this forum, and even though you apparently pretend to be me sometimes (I still don't quite understand that ;D) everyone is one big family and blah blah, but Monkey, your initial post didn't sarcastically (or otherwise) make fun of his grammar at all.

You mocked the fact that he unsurely asked if people had heard of the N64 (a console that may well possibly be older than him), and his hurried (and obviously ill-thought out) "rules" for this activity he wanted to participate in.

I just want to point out that just because it is Icey posting, that shouldn't mean everyone HAS to participate in some sort of mass mockathon. If his posts annoy someone to such an extreme level, people should ignore him.

Any-how, Khris I thought by saying I was going to try and change for everyone was just as good as if I said I was sorry. I can say sorry all the time about anything but that will not(in this case) show that I would like to change. But if that is what you would like for me to say then I guess it wont hurt, I am sorry

I already asked before to some of you not to joke around with me at times like before. It is fun some times however sometimes this happens. Every time I try to be serious with something this tends to happen.

Also if the problem is the way my post come out then say that. Some of you say my post are like riddles that don't make sense. However if that is the problem in the first place then say that. Don't have me sitting here arguing with every over something that is not the problem. Because not only is what we are talking about not the problem it also ends up adding on to the problem.

While we're talking about ANYTHING, let's discuss our favorite actors/actresses.

I don't have a lot off the top of my head, but actors:

- Johnny Depp
- Freddie Highmore

Actresses:

- Isla Fischer
- AnnaSophia Robb
- Abigail Breslin

Hi Stupot. Johnny Deep is awesome, I reckon he's a real versatile actor, he seems to be able to take on any role; pirate, gypsy camping on a canal (Hot Chocolate). And all round a top bloke. Leo was so hot in Shutter Island (is absolutely sure blow my mind much when he spoiler arrived at the lighthouse spoiler at the end). Still can't make my mind up whether he was actually insane or not. Not to mention Leo's a diamond geezer tbh.

Here's my list of NOT so good actors.

- Daniel Radcliffe.
- Daniel Radcliffe.
- Dan Radcliffe.
- Dannyyy

His acting is so wooden. And he's the luckiest man alive. Think of all the people who turned up to that audition all those years ago. And now he's proper minted.

ddq, that's a technical example of TMI (and I'm not talking about Monkey Island).  ;D
On a down note, in the last 48h I slept about 2 of them, and installation of a program messed up the whole Windows and I thought I could restore from a point only to find out that W7 doesn't really make restore points if you haven't clicked on the disk you wish to keep a restore point of...so a clean complete install...I did catch up on some reading, I finally finished Mieville's "Perdido street station" and began finishing Prachett's "Guards! Guards!" (I was half about way through).
And again, ddq, you see that this also might be considered a tmi case.  :P

Zoey Deschanel! How could I have forgotten the one actress who made that horrid Hitchhiker's abomination watchable? := I'm not just being shallow for although she is gorgeous, she is also an amazing singer and actress. She's perhaps one of the single most diversely talented celebrities of which I am aware.

I enjoy Robert Downey, Jr., though I'm not sure I would want to put him in the same list as Johnny Depp! :P As for Jeff Bridges, the only movie I can remember him being in off the top of my head is Tron coz I just watched it the other day. :D

To add another actor to my list, Will Ferrell. Love him or hate him, he's just amazing.

@ddq: I specifically recall having once made reference to my own "poopy" (as you put it), and Zooty kindly requested that I never again discuss my bowel movements here ever again. Apparently such talk disturbs him. I don't know if you much care about disturbing Zooty, but if you do then you may wish to reconsider your poopspeek. :)

Speaking of monkey, Andy Serkis does an awesome job playing Monkey in Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. It's a very lovely game, seems to have gotten its price reduced lately too. If you like colorful, post-apocalyptic scenery and fighting with badass sticks, I'd recommend buying it. Now!

I know it's not directed at me, but there are 2 albums from the band She & Him, if you like that kind of music (sort of perky pop/folk, then you'll like both) - there's stuff like Black hole, Thieves, Don't look back, Lingering still etc. She also sings in Munchausen by proxy (the band from Yes Man movie), but there are only 3 songs I think.

I've liked Edward Norton and Brad Pitt. Fight Club remains as my favorite movie of all time. Just the dialog back and forth between them (or, I should say, between himself  ;) ) is humorous and on point.

Or Jackie Chan. Even if he's in a movie with terrible acting, the fight scenes make up for it every time. His humor is pretty great too.

Even if it's not broken, there could be a severe damage done. Is there a lot of swelling for more than a day? If so, try to move stuff that's below the part you think is broken, can you move stuff like fingers without extra pain or at all? If you can, then it still could be a hairline fracture...so basically, you'll need an xray. So to make your own xray machine you'll need orange juice, film and a camera, melted lead soldiers and a rubber duck, or you can try that iphone app that shows your bones, but those are not 100% reliable.

But seriously though, if you have a friend who's a medical student or something (and you don't want to go to the doctor) and ask them to take a look.
If you're going to the doctor call help to get you there. (aren't you a Brit? don't you have like public health service and not private like Americaninos?)

Oh, and what the hell were you doing going skating? It's like a break bone activity in itself.

Ian Mckellen

Ian McKellen is good. A top notch Gandalf, grey or white. But I fear he's getting rather old and senile now. Then again he has walked this earth for three hundred lives of men ;)

On topic of off topic, has anybody heard the theory that Tom Bombadil is the Witch King of Angmar himself? It makes a lot of sense. At the Council of Elrond Gandalf did suggest that Bombadil was given the ring for safe keeping. But it was soon decided otherwise. At the end of the third book, Gandalf says he is going to have "a long talk" with Tom Bombadil, even though the ring of Power has been destroyed and all of Sauron's evil gone from Middle Earth. Another piece of evidence is the fact Tom could control the barrow-wights of the Barrow Downs. Not even Galadriel herself could do this. Although that's debatable. The dream that Frodo has on his second night at Bombadil's house is also very curious.

Related to this in the last chapter of the first book, The Breaking of the Fellowship, when Frodo is on Amon Hen, is the voice telling him to take off the Ring Tom Bombadil? It may be Galadriel who possesses Nenya because wielders can communicate.

And it's about this time in your life that you come to a conclusion - as time passes by, your body gets more messed up, pretty soon more of your teeth are black than white, your knee hurts, your finger doesn't bend all the way etc. getting old sucks.

Yep, and it is even funnier. I can't think of another comedy this spectacularly written.

I ALSO PREFER THE COMPANY OF MEN TO THAT OF WOMEN BECAUSE I SUCK THE PENIS WHAHAHAHA

"I think you'll find that the universe pretty much covers everything."

"Shut up woman, get on my horse!"

The Hulk, SHIT? Not in MY book! I mean, you could go and throw the MOON at the Hulk, with BATMAN on it. The Hulk would still win!

Human Centipde. That's SHIT. Literally.

I have a friend who loves that movie simply because of that part haha. Really don't know how some people think that would make a good movie...

I don't know if anyone here knows who Anvil is, but they have a documentary that's pretty funny and awesome.

Human Centipede... yeah, now I'm usually not one to shy away from outrageous, disgusting and offensive movies, as long as it's a good laugh, or in some way meaningful... but THC sounds to me like the big-screen equivalent of '2 Girls 1 Cup', which I regret ever watching, and don't intend to make the same mistake twice.

Post by: monkey0506 on Tue 26/07/2011 06:06:13
So I've been working on my avatar script to try and implement usage of APNG instead of GIF for animation. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any prebuilt scripts to handle it for me (I cheated on the GIF animations). The APNG specification is pretty specific in the way the data is written and then trying to convert static frames into a single APNG animation...ugh.

Anyway, there's a practical upshot to APNG vs GIF in that the alpha transparency won't be all exploded when my avatar catches fire. The downside is that APNG has less browser support, but the upshot to APNG vs MNG is that APNG is backwards compatible with the official PNG specifications, so if your browser doesn't support APNG (because you're dumb!) then you'll still be able to see my avatar..I mean, once I've finished writing the APNG code. For now I've left the GIF code in-place and I'm utilizing a working copy of the avatar script instead of the live copy. Not nearly as fun as when I was writing the code last night to set my avatars aflame with GIF animation and was working directly on the live copy. :P

Once the APNG code is in-place I'd like to strip the GIF code out altogether.

So, question:

Why don't more people have dynamic avatars like me? Are you just too lazy to write your own avatar scripts? Coz I could certainly offer people access to mine if they'd like.

DISCUSS!

I know you shouldn't quote the entire post directly above yours, but by that logic (i.e., the forum rules) nobody should be posting in this thread period. :P I am watching Nacho Libre. Let's talk about how great of a person Jared Hess is. Also, Tim Burton. I literally love him.
