There's a confederate flag in the previous room and it can be picked up after some pixel-hunting for the hotspot. I'm guessing that's the wooden stake you need.

I don't actually know because when I tried to go back for the kill, the "open coffin" cinematic played again and then the game froze on me. Maybe I'm just unlucky but I don't really feel like subjecting myself to the rest of the game again so soon to find out if that's the correct item.

yeah, i have the flag, i also throught of the stakes in the same room, the ones on the floor but i can´t pick them up. with the flag and the hammer i go to the open coffin and nothing happens when i click, it also happens to me that the scene repeats and frozes...maybe a bug?? i wanted to finish the game

I am having problems getting passed the first part that involves the receptionist desk and the first floor.  I have the driver's license.  What should I do now?

There are many rooms to explore. Even upstairs there are rooms. Talk to everyone you meet to find out what's going on.
