I talked to the skeleton several times, left & returned to the room at the top of the bloody stairs several times, & still can't locate the mouse. Please help

Sorry, I feel so dumb sometimes. I can't seem to find the broken barrel after entering the room at the top of the bloody stairs. I've looked everywhere but can't find a hotspot.
