Devil's shroud 2 - Plum problem

Hi everybody,
I already read the old thread about this game and didn't find any post about my problem: how do I get the plum at the abbey? Every time I try, the message I get is "I can't reach the plum". Did I fail to see some special plum-picking tool which is laying around and screaming my name?

Please help - even although I have read the hints I still cannot manage to follow Guiseppe.  I have viewed him through the telescope in my room and at the statue near the hotel.  But I don't know what to do from here as I cannot find him.

Follow him, but be careful, because Giuseppe checks if somebody is following him. If your main character says "He has seen me", then you have lost him for sure. So save often. On every screen, find a cover. Giuseppe will go to the old town, up to the church and finally to the park. It took me many attempts until I succeeded. Hope this helps.

Thank you - it helps to know which direction he will take. My problem is that I am at the telescope and he is down by the statue.  Where do I go to pick him up for the first time so that I can follow. Thanks

When you see that Giuseppe hides at the statue, go to the hotel entrance (outside, where the taxi waits), then go one screen to the right.
Giuseppe will go to the old village of Lyon. Save. Go quickly to the left of the stairs and hide behind the low wall before Giuseppe turns around to check the area, then follow him. And so on

Thanks for trying to help, but I must really be mentally challenged. Once I see Guiseppe through the telescope at the statue, I go back to the hotel entrance, using the trains to get there, but I do not see him hiding anywhere when I go one screen right so I have no one to follow. Also the little boy is not flying his kite anymore.

Strange. Or do you restore a game before going to the statue? Unfortunately, I have no save game ready...

Oh no ! Finally I could start following.  I did not look at the statue when I got back.  Thanks for all your help.  Hopefully I can now complete the game.
