Listen to Cuppit, he'll explain how the interface works (right-click to expand the verb and item panels, drag and drop verbs and GUIs if you want to, use first letter keys as shortcuts).

Then, click 'enter' on the 'alley', to enter the alley.

I can't get this game going.....Read all that you said, but that box that pops up with all the words keeps getting in the way when I pick something and then want to use it...... Dumb me/

Okay, this obviously needs a better help function... you can right-click to open the verb gui, and you can also right-click to close it again to make more room for the rest of the screen. You should drag/drop the verbs you use most to the top, so you can access them instantly. Failing that, use keyboard shortcuts.

Okay, I've hardly got going, and I'm stuck:

I can't get rid of the angel! I've tried each of the Seven Deadly sins as well as things like murder and theft, but he still won't let me pass. Aargh! Got the feather off him, though.

And is is possible to get rid of that unicorn? I've swiped his hat, but now I've run out of ideas completely.

I have just started the game, I have two hats (santa and cowboy), a feather from the angel, and a pumkin from the start screen...I have been in the zoo and hotel but can't seem to do anything (can't free the elf in the cage at the zoo and I cannot get the key or ball from the hotel), also cannot get rid of the angel...any hints??

I gave the feather to the monkey inside the hotel so he can write-he went outside but I don't know what else to do with him...also, about the feeding bucket at the zoo-I can't take it so I assume I need something to bait the crab but I don't have anything to put in the bucket-what am I supposed to do-I am trying to commit a sin to get rid of the angel but I have not been able to get rid of him...any ideas?

Thanks Fizzii and Radiant for the hints.  I'm now generally where everybody else is.  A couple of things I have been able to do that I don't see mentioned are:

I can give the crab to the guy standing in front of McDragons and he gives me a dragon egg and game board in return.  I can eat the dragon egg but nothing happens.  Who knows what the "red herring" is for.     Knowing this game, I bet it has a crucial purpose.
