I'm stuck and dont even understand what the walkthrough means! I need the find the 3rd stone, and have just been to the church, seen the monk is bad, and now the walkthrough says to go to the swamp and take the first letter of each word from the poem i got inside the church, and follow it to the castle. I take it this means E,W,S,E etc etc, but you can't follow the directions it says from the swamp onwards as they either lead you to a dead end or into the sea from the word go! ? ? Any ideas of what im supposed to do ?

Its been a long time from I have played this one, not sure which walkthrough you are using. There is quite a few of them out there, I suggest you do a search on google and look at the different ones. I just remember getting to the swamp or water and the castle was in the distance and there was a ferryman standing there (a shrouded character) and I remember having to give him a coin for him to take me across. So maybe you need to do something else before he shows up. Check the other walkthroughs they might help
BTW did you manage to catch the falcon in the other game?
You should start from the first true room of the swamp (not the one west of that, because that is part of the real world map and mostly next to Haggy's cave). Follow directions. Then end up with going north once more, towards the light. IIRC.

Found my way to the boatman, and am now trying to climb upto the castle without being pricked by the thorns and dieing! Yes thanks Joyce, i caught the Eagle in the first game.....after i looked at that map link, you can see theres actually a very, very tiny cross on the game that you have to stand on to be able to catch it.
