I'm stuck in this game as well

I just got the scissors and I have no idea what to do! Feels like I've tried clicking on everything. I read the hint in the main thread but I still can't figure it out. I even watched the lets play of this game, but even the guy doing that couldn't figure it out :P

Examine the pot downstairs, right of the sofa. You will find a key (after you found the soil in the upper floor)
