need help w/5days and III Spy

How do You drain the pool in 5 days a stranger (day 2 I believe)  I asked for metal detector he wont' give to me.

I have the book from the library but I can't take map from second shelf.

(III Spy)  How do I get my snail to win race so that I can win the alcohol to give to the girl in the truck?  I tried having him drink whatever's in the blue cup but it didn't work and neither did anything else I tried.

You also need something to slow down the other snail's run and something to speed up yours.

You need to talk to the person outside then go back and get the map. Click on all books until pick up.

How do i make my snail win the race i put the bread on my side and the salt on the other snail side, still after alot of tries i  cant win that race,Why?
