Hi there.
I'm not sure this is the right forum to post the question, but i've really been looking everywhere for help on this:
I can't play the much-recommended QfG4½: So you though you were a hero? :-[
I am running win2000. (Why oh why was AGS made to run in DOS?)
When trying to use the setup, I get the strange message "shutting down allegro", which is repeated perpetually?!?
Trying to start the game from windows results in an error message : "one or more CON pages" (something something, it goes too quick to read)
then gives me an error message which I can barely read before it exits again.
Trying to start the game from a DOS prompt, I get the error message: "There was a problem initializing graphics mode 640X400 (Problem: "Resolution not supported"). Try to correct the problem or seek help from the AGS homepage."
Well, so I shall... Anyway, I cannot set my screen properties to anything lower than 640X480, is that it? (Note: Other AGS games seem to work fine)
Trying to run from DOSBOX, I am told this: "No DPMI - Get csdpmi*b.zip"
Well, I tried to google for a file of that name, but found nothing.
WHAT CAN I DO?!?? ???
Use VDMsound.Then it should work
Thanks a lot for the advice. Now I can run the setup utility, enabling me to choose sound settings.
However...
I still get the "Resolution not supported" problem.
I don't get it? On other AGS games i just choose either 320X200 or 640X400, whichever works the best.
How do I get my system to support the settings?
