Stuck in Exile... please help!!

Hiyas,
I am stumpt in the adventure game Exile. The creator seems to think that walkthroughs are the death of adventure games. : But, I wanted to write a review for this game to put on my site, so if anyone has finished it, could you please tell me how to get past the guard on the steps?

Cut away the tree roots by the tree in the begining, in there you will find petrified fruit that you use to distract the guard by the alarm,

I had known about rolling the fruit in front of the alarm just didnt know I had to walk far away so I thought I was doing something wrong.. Yay another review completed.   Thanks!!

Exile isn't an AGS game though, so this IS the right spot. Exile = Myst III

No, Exile = a MAGS game (or a short-length game , I don't recall.)

I picked the link up for exile from the AGS games section and its under medium games................so why is this the wrong forum to post.

In the hope someone can help me -  I'm stuck .........I keep rolling the fruit but can't get past the guard?

You can deal with the guard like this:

After rolling the apple you must hide quickly in the dark shadow of the wall on the left side. The guard will not be able to find you and keep looking for you on the other side. That's your chance to stabb her with your knife.

And some people complained about this thread being in the wrong forum because it was in the wrong forum before the moderators moved it here.   And of course is Exile an AGS-game, one of my favourite actually.
