Title: Tune Contest Dec. 14-21
Post by: Sluggo on Sun 14/12/2003 06:39:07
Ok, here's an idea I think was mentioned a while ago, but I don't think anyone used it. Write music for this scene:

Can be any instruments, any length, midi or mp3. (limit 1 MB)

Have fun!

Well, that idea just rules. I'd like seeing more of that in the future. :)

Ah, yes! I like these kind of themes. I'll give it a shot.

Edit:

Well then. The ditty is done. It is very short in order to stay under the 1MB limit, but as it's supposed to be looping background music I think it works.

dude, that's really cool. I really like it. Gives you a really great Jungle feeling ;D

But It would be nice if it would be a little longer. It's kinda too short for me. but It would find nicely into a game.

Lgm sent this to me the other day. I play guitar in it and another friend is in the background with his girlfriend.

Disclaimer: This is a real song. The man in the background is real, though he is not having sex. This entry is not to be taken seriously, but if you want it to win, more power to ya. :)

Ghormie, that's great tune :)

I made one too, pretty simple: Click. (http://koti.mbnet.fi/hurjat/jungle_compo.mid)

It's a midi by teh way.

Here it is! My entry, I mean.

http://biphome.spray.se/erik.igelstrom/eldkatt-jungly.mid (http://biphome.spray.se/erik.igelstrom/eldkatt-jungly.mid)

It's a... preludeish type thingie. With no structure. For solo harp. With a cadenza-type thing. Of the kind you might get with a crappy midi interface and no thinking ahead/planning/thinking of any kind. It's pretty promising up until said cadenza-type thing. :P

Good work everyone else too, of course.

Oh, and incidentally, it (the entry) originally had something somehow to do with the theme of the contest. If you feel it lacks that, I... revised it. Yeah.

EDIT: Now the link actually works. Thanks to a bunch of people on IRC for telling me it didn't from the beginning.

I would post.

If I had spotted this thread before now.

I guess I could whip up something in fifteen minutes, but it's kinda not worth it.  Well, I take that back. Let's just say I'm in a very lazy state right now.

Ok, I've had some time to review the entries. All are very nice, good job everyone.

The winner is: Petteri!

Congratulations! It had a nice atmosphere that fit well with the background. It actually kind of reminded me of the SimIsle music.

Good job everyone, and Happy Holidays!
