Title: Yet another MONKEY ISLAND theme game, or NOT !!! But...
Post by: on Tue 04/01/2005 16:01:12
Hello guys,

I am posting here for the 1st time but have been reading adventure game forums for a while (years or so...). After I played almost every LUCAS ARTS and SIERRA games in the early 90s, I became an adventure fan-atic!
Having some spare time l8ly I decided to give it a try and make a little fan game myself, based on the famous and best game ever: MONKEY ISLAND...BUT (because it is a big BUT !!!!!) before you say IT IS DONE ALREADY, please read along. The idea is not to copy or use the original story or characters BUT to make it happening in our time...
Here is what I have so far:

STORY ( in progress... )

The main character (no name yet) has won a Caraibean Cruise Ship ticket
and has no idea what adventures are waiting for him. He is relaxing in the sun, having a drink and feel good on the ship. The cruise includes tours of 3 Caraibean Islands, including famous Monkey Island witch is almost deserted for years. Only the Marina and souvenirs shops for the tourists are open. Our character is amazed of the island because he played the game years ago (like most of us) and realy gets got in the mysterious island when the cruise ship leaves the port he is traped on the famous Monkey Island...and the quest continues to escape the monkey island...

Please 4give my spelling :) English is not my native language.

The game will have 2 acts: first on the boat and second on the island, and will be made in AGS.
Please send me your comments, ideas and story proposals...I want to know if it is a good idea or NOT...

Thanks and keep up the good work,

REGARDS,

R.I.

PS: I am looking for partners for this game. ANyone interested in joining the crew please send me your opinions. I'm not a good drawing artist so this is my 1st priority.

Thank you very much for your post.
I might add that the final story will be original, very fun and clever puzzles. I am working on some backgrounds and characters, and will post full story line and some screenshots soon. Anyone willing to help and join the project please email me.

Best Regards,

R.I.

The rules state a minimum of 2 screenshots! Now hurry up and post 2 screenshots before Darth LOCKS down the thread!

[nice Darth]

Your English is very good for it not being your native language.

[mean Darth]

I'm going to lock this thread for several reasons:

1) You don't yet have a name for the game
2) Your main character doesn't yet have a name
3) You don't have any screenshots to show

Sounds to me like you have an IDEA for a game ... rather than a Game in Production.

Post the game idea in the Adventure Related Chat (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?board=3.0) section to get feedback on the idea (or even the Critics Lounge (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?board=4.0) I suppose) and if you need help, post in the ACR Thread (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=17902.0).

When you have actually begun working on the game, and have read the FORUM RULES (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=1987.0), either contact me to unlock this thread, or just start a new one.

Welcome to AGS and thank you, drive through.
