up by the owls there is a cheat paper for the rune exams which appears during the potions test. so not very helpful....
also what is the difference between going back in time, and going back in time at midday?
I know that one is restart as i lost my items :P
If you go back in time in midday, you can see all the characters move backwards for a short amount of time. Repeat the spell to get them to get them to travel as far back as you want.
Though, I'm not sure if you can keep your inventory items; at least, I always lose the cheatsheet when I go back.
If you go back in time beyond the point where you picked up the item, you lose the item since it cannot be in two places simultaneously (which would cause a paradox and blow up the universe and so forth).
However, you do keep all your knowledge. Specifically, that includes spells. So you should start with collecting several useful spells (which requires a puzzle or two). Your second step would be analysing the day to see where you need to be at which time; the characters move around a lot but the day isn't all that complex. The third and final step is rewinding the day entirely (reversultrar!) and following the schedule you just made for yourself.
Needless to say you need a different method for each of the exams.

im not entirely sure what you mean about the knowledge doesnt go away. seeing as how i got the cheatsheet but could never use it. either in exam 2 or 3 and when i take tame back to exam 1 the sheet is gone since it appears right after exam 1 when alloy blocks the steps

I'm not sure how to pass the potions exam either. I believe you have to get Drape distracted, and do something while he is distracted. But spells don't seem useful when Drape is around as he always says 'nullicifus'.
ive forund the same about the potions. It has to be something when he is distracted but i dont know. im wondering if the firework has something to do with it since im not sure if its just a random thing in the game. or the couldron.

I've rearranged the timetable. But, then Darco gets in my way to the owl place. By the time I get the cheat sheet the second exam's already started. Can anyone tell me how to get round this?
Can somebody tell me how to get the firecracker? When i try to get it after Rob drops it, i miss the first exam and after the first exam i can't get it because Larry says he's paralysed and then it disappears.
Is there a trick or is it that i'm just not being quick enough?

im not sure if it was a bug or meant to be, but in the lab i waited till everyone came in, then reversed time till they went back out, the blocked the portal on the stairs. rob and the professor were the only two who got through it.

At the first test Draco paralyzes me so i cannot get the cheatsheet until the second test is over, I can't use the spell to go back in time or else I will loose the firecracker. Is there a way to stop Draco from blocking the path or paralyzing me?
for some reason his paralising never worked on me. however the trick to getting anything when you get to it too late is to reverse time
That doesn't work because If I get the cheatsheet and then rewind time to when the test begins I loose it. Also Drape is in the Potions Lab so I can't use the short cut :( Drape Isn't in the room before the exam, so If i rewind time I still loose the cheatsheet, and If i go in the room after the exam and rewind I loose the cheatsheet, the only thing I can do is find a way in during the exams.

here is how i did it. i left the exam and draco was standing there. i took my time and went for a walk. when the 2nd exam starts and draco moves i then go onto the steps and wait at the bottom. i then rewind time to when draco 1st gets onto the steps after the 1st exam. then i go upstairs and get the cheatsheet. I go to the bottom of the stairs. wait till the start of the 2nd exam when draco moves. then i go down the steps. now that im down the steps i rewind time slightly to juuust before the start of the 2nd exam and walk in cool as a cucumber. :)

If you haven't gotten a spell from Calliope, talk to her after the second exam, and she'll tell you indirectly what she wants. You can then use the spell she gives you to obtain another spell, and from there yet another spell.

You may not immediately get a spell from the hallways by looking at the paintings, but eventually you should if you keep clicking. You can use that spell to get another useful spell.
The tricky part after that is passing the exams, but the hints in this thread should already help you out. :)
But the problem is, I've read all the hints, I've talked to her after the second exam, and I STILL can't get anything. I've restarted the day about 23 times. I'm about ready to just delete the game, which is sad, because I'm a Harry Potter fanatic. But it's just too frustrating. Maybe I'm having a blond moment, but I just really don't get this game. If this wasn't a Harry Potter parody, I would have already deleted it because I don't particularly like games where you have to do certain things at certain times. I can never seem to do anything fast enough.
thats why you can reverse time. so that if you missed the time to do something you can reverse time. with getting the spell is that she wants a specific item. one that can be found somewhere in the game.

Man, this game really gets you to think... I have the Alohomora, Obliviate, and the one that begins with a V that you find with a pixel hunt. Any hints towards being able to use the cheatsheet?
If you find the spell in the hallway, you'll be able to use the cheatsheet by using that spell in some way...

Just one last comment on why I prefer walkthroughs.. Some say that a walkthrough spoils a game... if you use it wrong, it does. But here's my thing... when I use a walkthrough, I can spoil as much or as little as possible. I read only until I come to something I haven't done, and go on my own from there. With hint boards, it's much easier to spoil. While searching for the thing I need help with, I always inevitably read something that's further in the game, usually unintetionally. Even with spoiler tags, it's hard not to do. Maybe my thinking is backwards, but that's what always happens to me. :-)
No, you should retain all spells even after using Reversultrar. I checked, and it doesn't happen in my game at least.
Huh. It does it every time for me. It keeps all of the other spells, just not that one. I just tried it again. It's no big deal... it's one of the easy spells to find.

From the paintings in the hallway, just keep clicking until you get them. I'm not sure about it disappearing, because when I rewind to the dawn of time, I don't lose that spell. So that's a bit strange, but maybe you might be able to get the spell again anyway.
Hopefully you kept clicking on 'More' if you had other spells and eventually it'd show up.

There is an exploit that allows you to. But I don't know what this'll do in the rest of the game, as far as crashing or spoiling goes, especially considering how little else I've accomplished.

Start casting the spell when Drape is out of the room. Don't click on your target until Drapo has entered the room again. Cast it, and it won't be nulled.
If you wait until the test is started, you'd think you could get the answers from Cally, but no, you still somehow "don't know how to use this stuff."
That's hardly an exploit. No, it won't crash or spoil anything. And no, you can't pull the same trick twice, you'll have to pass potions in some other way.
OK I'm stuck in a particularly inconvenient point in the game. I don't know which exam to go to, or where it is.
I tried talking to Rob & Calliope, but I never get an answer, I don't even get to ask. They're always gone (out of sight) when Cuppit finally finishes talking, so I can't get to talk to them about the exams, nor can I follow them.
At a guess, that would be the beginning of the game?
Do you have your wand? If not, ask Cuppit.
Simply walk downstairs through the portal, and explore.

i was able to get rid of draco by trapping him in the bathroom and make it to the final exam however when i ask rob to distract drape and try to use the firecracker even though draco isnt in the room he still says that spell and disables my firecracker
