Peter, thats a strange one. One of the beta testers also encountered that, I'm not sure how they solved it (I think it was Peder). Try this;

My apologies. As m0ds says this is a bug identified during beta testing, and I thought I'd fixed it. Until I upload a patch, the only option is to load a saved game and try again. I'm sorry you had to do that, peter!

Well I don't give the whole game away, I did talk all person including coot, I do have phrase book from the grave.
Each time I look at, phrase appear in front and I'm not sure what to do with it.

If you talk into the pipe more than once it still runs through the fish-plane takeoff and disguise cutscene, which gives you an unlimited supply of vouchers which also means you can get several kinky undies. Despite having more than one pair of kinky undies-the Baroness still won't accept any from me!

I decoded the long verse on the tavern wall (I swear by the graves, etc.)
then I talked to bird about the book and got the letter from the grave decoded to Quick, Gold, Etc. Now I go to the wall to decode it and what am I suppose to be typing in? I did both the long and short writings and nothing happens. I did get the pirates tattoo and showed it to pirate in the bar, but I dont know how to tell him I know the code

I have a lot of items, two of them for a flag for the leprechauns: clover and rainbow scarf. But I have no chance to buy an outfit for the lady in front of the closed shop, so I can't get her pink outfit. I read something about a voucher, but I can do nothing at the tower. When I talk into the pipes (I opened them much earlier in the game), the answer is "these are pigeons" ore something like this. I also have several envelopes of the DLA already, I can't read them nor use them or give them.

I used the alphabet box to uncode that long saying on the screen (I swear by the graves) or the short note (quick, gold silver etc.)
ok just went back into game again and decoded that long saying in the box by pressing the correct keys in the alphabet box.to spell out I swear by the graves, etc........ Nothing........It said that that wasnt it.
What am I doing wrong...... It is a lot to keep typing in and I have done it about 3 times already........ The short note doesnt work either if I type in the correct letters. OK now I have done it 4 times..... still no luck......
read through it very carefully, 1 letter out of place can ruin it

I think the 2 underwear in inventory is the problem. The first time I got two coupon because I spoke through the pipe twice and accidentally used both coupons and would up with two pairs of underwear. Nelly would not let me use the moustache.
I went back to an older savegame and only got one coupon and subsequently one pair of underwear. This time I could use the moustache without a problem.

Are you trying to put it on at the tower or to give the baroness the underwear?
Either way, to put on the mustache, you have to click on it, bring up the verb coin and interact with it (hook). YOu'll have to read the letter and talk to the ladies before you can use the mustache at the tower. With the baroness, check to make sure you only got one voucher and therefore one pair or underwear in your inventory.

I had the same problem. Verb coin: The three cursors that appear when you click for long enough over a hotspot or inventory item. Click on the moustache in the inventory and have the mouse button long enough active until you see the "talk"/"use"/"look" cursor. Use these cursors to examine items or to use them.

at the end and although I read the cheat sheet on how to move the magnet, I still cant seem to understand it and it is not working for me....Anyone have a simple way to tell me how to do it??

I don't know what the combination is since I randomly hit the buttons until I saw the pattern and used trial and error.
You only have to concentrate on the horseshoe shaped magnet. Experiment and watch how each rectangular button makes the magnet move (how many spaces left or right and how many spaces up or down). See if you can figure out the correct combination. The circular buttons activate the things you're moving. Just press the magnet button when you have the magnet position directly over Widebeard (this means as low as possible over him).
I believe that is what I said in the guide but perhaps I made it complicated by trying to explain everything. The combination I used was made on the spot. I simply copied down the steps I took because I knew the same that worked for me would work for someone else. But I never figured out how to reset it, which would have helped if someone had already screwed up.

I hate the hook-a-duck game, I can only get 5 at the most....is there a special order to pick them? There's a lot a time wasted when swapping the hooks, quite a few ducks go past while there's still text in the way that prevents me from doing anything.
no special order.....just trial and error...... try to get the hook on as fast as you can and then aim high on the ducks to get their hook......
lol that's not it at all. It took me a while to figure it out as well. The game ends as soon as it does because you click as fast as you can, but the game ends after you click eight times( i.e. use the hook eight times). So its only possible to get eight out of eight. You only have to miss one to get the seven. The ducks will keep coming until you left-click eight times. It does require some concentration since the targets are moving, but the games not rushed.

You should never have gotten into the ship. You need to make it seem(or sound) like you've gotten in, but actually have not. After the ship flies off, Nelly will walk herself back up to the women

If you mean the pirates code, you can reference my guide for the correct pattern. But you just need to switch the letters two at a time until the code reads completely literate( so to speak). I hope that helps

You have to put a disguise on..... What does Angelo have that you have in your inventory? Use hand verb to put that mustache on.....Then go up and talk to her and she will give you the voucher

You might have solved this, but I'm still stuck at it. After I pick up the defective hook, I try clicking the new hook on it, doesn't work. Try interacting with it (and I get the message that it's unscrewable, but still Nelly doesn't unscrew it), nothing happens. Hi Great Game !!
I've just got to the island, talked to the lepercaun (sorry for the spelling,i'm not really good for writhing in english) who appeared in the window of the barbewired door, i've also check out the mine with the furnace and mecanical thing...But now i'm stuck!! Not really stuck but just dont know what to do next!!
One more thing, the pirate at the bar offered to pay for a drink how do I know wich one i'm supposed to get? I've already got one thinking that I would need it for a task I needed to complete, but it turned out that I dind't need it afther all, now i've got a drink but don't know if i'll need it or if I choose the right one. ???

you need the cat one, forgot the name. She says, oh there is a picture of a cat on the bottle.....This will be used on your cat to make it more aggresive with that dog to get the 4 leaf clover
Island with the leprecons: They need to feel happy..... You have to make a new flag for them. They will tell you and give you a drawing of the flag. You need three things for the flag. One is a rainbow (which you will win at the duck game, one is a 4 leaf clover(the dog that the lady is holding has one in its mouth on that platform by the airship) and you need to get something for the mayors wife in town so you can get her undies for the material for the flag.

I also had problems, but you can look in the inventory (with verb coin) or use an inventory item. BTW: The book about the birds is useful when presented to a bird.
I know about the verb coin.... sheesh. I'm seeing THIS particular item doesn't so anything with said actions.

you are talking about the cave and the gate on the small island past the gate. You cannot enter the first gate, but you can knock on a window and get further advice. Help them so they can get rid of the monkey at the cave.

To win the duck game, you must replace the current silver hook on the stick with the ihook, which you can get at O & B's. After that, you just have to pick up the stick and use it to hook the ducks onto the hook(just clicking the loops above their heads will do it.

Use one of the daalders to get into the Rogue Gallery at the bar. take one of the postcards from the corner of the painting(as well as the mustache on the skeleton, but for a different reason). Offer the post card to them, and they will say it needs to be signed. Do that yourself with the quill, then give it to them

I know that I need a voucher, but only because I've read about it in the spoilers. My question is not "Where can I can find it?" but "What do I need to do in the game at this point in order to find out that I need a voucher?"

2.) Talk to Horace Green I think her name is at the top of Baon's Tower.
3.) Talk about Angelo
4.)Put on the moustace
5.) Talk to her and get her to be ready
6.) talk into the pipe. Bla bla bal, you get the gift voucher for the babylon. Give it to the woman. She'll open up the gallery
7.) Look at all the attire, then select to but one-piece.
8. give it to the Baroness with the moustache on.

I'm in the mine's jail-trap, I've tried every thread of conversation with the Baron twice, tried every inventory item I have on him and everything else within reach of the screen, thrown the three small stones so they hit the bell...what else can I do??? :) From what I read of other hints, I'm fairly sure I have to crank to get power and use the control pad to manipulate a magnet to catch his iron feet or something...but every time I try to move, he tells me not to. I bet this is going to be blindingly obvious once you tell me. Thanks!

Then give him phrase book. Then throw pebble to make a loud noise and while this noise is going on use the crank.

If you're talking about the machine puzzle, just press the buttons to make all the components move around. You'll eventually find that the magnet hangs right above Widebeard's head

Sorry this reply is so late, but Kristina didn't message me. If you're still around Kristina, you're playing at too low a resolution (320x240). You probably haven't unzipped the game. Make sure that you've taken all the files out of the zipped folder and put them on your hard drive. If you have done that, check winsetup and make sure it's set to 640x480 resolution. You may have to start from the beginning again, sorry!

Give the book to Widebeard, telling him that you can help him. That'll keep him for a while. Pick up the pebbles next to you and throw them on the bell. As soon as the bell sounds, pull the lever next to you. Use the round buttons to move the magnet. Try to get the magnet over Widebeard.

Hehe, I remember solving this puzzle even without the key (if I remember correctly, there was some kind of hint to it); actually I couldn't understand how to use the hint, so I used the method which I read in one detective novel. It is based on knowing peculiarities of english language, first of which is that most used syllable is "e", other than that most used double-letter combinations are "ee" and "ll", and so on.
It took a whole while, but when I finally finished it, I felt pleasure beyond belief ;D
