Post by: FSi++ on Tue 24/07/2007 18:49:59
Ache Quest is a thrilling story of a boy without name but with Tourette’s.

His life was such a hell that when he read about retired wizard Grumpygad hiding from public in the middle of nowhere, in a castle surrounded by crocodile ditch, gargoyles and giant fun fair.

Game was made for MAGS July'07: Fun Fair.

Well, I could play this game, but your screenshot is not interesting, so I will pass this time.  Please focus on working to make better graphics.  Better graphics- more chance of being played.

FSi is world-reknown for his graphics, so I wouldn't worry about his following :D.

Good graphics should only ever come third to an interesting plot and balanced puzzles.

Right.
Graphics aren't that important.
When the wizard looks like a table you could call it surreal, but that the basilisk is mainly a square makes the impression that you don't care that much about your creation.
I played it awhile, liked some puzzles and the dialog.
But I didn't finish it. I felt that I wasted my time searching for the solution for the basilisk puzzle. The irratating 2-color, minimalist, "square-y" graphics, which don't even have the style of a Davy Jones C'est Mort, turned me off additionally. They didn't help you to imagine the surrounding yourself.
If you don't like to draw graphics you maybe should make a textadventure instead. I would have enjoyed it much more then.

Not bad overall. It didn't hold my interest, though.

bla bla

When the wizard looks like a table...

bla bla

He doesn't look like a table, he just sits on a chair facing the wall. He's short, so his head is not visible.

Edit: The basilisk puzzle was easy lol, gross but easy. Weird game FSI. Also the BIG MOUNTAIN was a laugh.

:( no big zipper damn construction workers are slacking. Fire their asses, no wait then it will take them longer to get to work.

I will defintly check this out. For two reasons really:

1. It's a MAGS entry so I have to check it out in order to vote.

2. Some times FSI just makes games that are really funny or some how good, so always worth to check his creations.

:)
