Thank you for the kind words, hope you enjoy it!
On a side note, we're also now available on Desura.
http://www.desura.com/games/metal-dead (http://www.desura.com/games/metal-dead)
I bought Metal Dead from Desura; however, when I try to play it I get an error which says, "There was a problem initializing graphics mode 800 x 600 (32-bit). (Problem: 'The requested adapter mode is not supported') Try to correct the problem, or seek help from the AGS homepage. Possible causes: *your graphics card drivers do not support this resolution. Run the game setup program and try the other resolution. The graphics driver you have selected does not work. Try switching between Direct3D and DirectDraw. The graphics filter you have selected does not work. Try another filter.
Normally, I can run the game setup program to fix this problem by changing the Direct3D to DirectDraw; however, I cannot or do not know how to access the game setup program with Desura. Please help!
Sorry to hear about the setup problems. :(
The game should be installed in the Desura folder just like Steam. So if you head to where ever you installed Desura:
Desura > Common > Metal Dead
The winsetup file should be in there and you should be able to change the settings or even run the game straight from the exe if you so desire.
Hope that helps you out. If you have any other problems pm me anytime.
thank you thank you thank you!
I love how the guy on the third floor is named DXM and he's in a trance. I got that drug reference immediately.
Solid game! I dug the cute graphics, the setting, the jokes. The puzzles were mostly pretty simple but I still got stumped a few times. Definitely worth the bucks.
Hey congrats on releasing this! I wish I somehow could find the time to actually play games. ;D

Just bought this from Indievania - http://www.indievania.com/games/metal-dead - but it's downloading as a 1[1] file (whatever that is ???), so Windows doesn't recognise it. I can't even unzip it or open it. :(
How do I make this work in Windows?

Metal Dead is nominated for two Aggie Awards over at Adventure Gamers:
2011 Aggie Award Nominees (http://www.adventuregamers.com/article/id,1416/p,1)
We were lucky to score nominations for "Best Independent Adventure Game" and "Best Writing - Comedy". We're just honored to be considered because the competition is absolutely incredible.
Also, we'd love it if people who've played Metal Dead could give us some votes or comments on our AGS page at:
Metal Dead (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=1539)
It would be much appreciated. :)
I noticed Metal Dead is part of a zombie themed bundle called Bundle4Dead (http://www.indievania.com/bundles/bundle4dead).
4 zombie games for 4 dollars. Sounds good to me :D
Metal Dead is currently part of the Bundle in a Box (http://bundle-in-a-box.com/) Adventure Bundle along with: Gemini Rue, Ben There Dan That/Time Gentlemen, Please!, The Shivah, 1893: A World's Fair Mystery, and The Sea Will Claim Everything (made exclusively for the bundle).
That's a lot of point and clicking for such a low price! :-D
Yeah, just picked it up this morning!
Enjoying it very much so far :D
why does it say pay what you want if there is a minimum price? I know it's pretty low and you get great value for quite little money, but it's just wrong...

Yeah, it should be called "pay the minimum price, or what you want, in case you want to pay more than the minimum price". "ptmpowyticywtpmttmp" for short. ;)

Great to hear! And thanks for the write up on your blog. Love your games too! :-D
Just finished this today. Loved it! So many cool moments that had me laughing aloud and I actually found it a really fun and exciting game (the story climax made me actually shout "WHAT THE F*CK!? hahahahahaha" really loudly, just ask Grundislav who was skyping with me at the time). I love the whole setup, the gameplay was all fun, good puzzles to solve all of which made perfect sense to me and I found it rewarding to explore all the areas in the game.
One small criticism:
Spoiler
I had trouble finding the right hotspot when trying to open the cupboard for the doctor. I clicked the cupboard all over many times, the doc wouldn't let me open it. Only when I clicked the tiny handle did it work - I actually thought this was a bug and that I wasn't going to be able to finish the game
Other than that, this is one of the best adventures I have played in forever. Please tell me you're working on another game!
I decided to download the demo and check it out, Nice job guys!
:D
Metal Dead is finally available on Steam - 66% off for the first 6 days, 6 hours, and 6 minutes!
Metal Dead on the Steam Store (http://store.steampowered.com/app/302690)
We just wanted to thank the AGS community for all the support we've had over the long life of this game (it's truly undead)... and as a token of gratitude, we thought we'd dump a few Steam keys for whoever grabs 'em first.

There were... until they were shot down - GOG does not sell games priced under $5.99. Just an FYI for anyone planning to sell their game on there!
Congrats on the Steam release! I bought it a while ago and that reminded me that I never ended up finishing it. Just finished then, and the ending was awesome!
I'm really psyched for the sequel, I checked it out at PAX Aus last year, are you exhibiting again this time around?
Missed the keys, but I didn't mind paying! Metal music, zombies, comedy AND AGS games ALL IN ONE? YES PLEASE \m/ Loving it so far! (laugh)
Congratulations on the release. I really enjoyed the game. The ending was awesomely bizarre. (laugh)
Just finished this and I can't recommend it highly enough - such a great game, awesome humour, superb graphics and cutscenes, and so many subtle and not so subtle references packed into the game from start to finish. And of course.... METAL!!!

It may be worth approaching GOG again, cos there's a lot indie games on GOG that are selling for less than that price ($5.99 Australian dollars\£3.29 UK pounds), which I've listed below.
And even though I bought the game direct from yourwebsite when it first came out, I would buy it again from GOG, if it was on there.

I bought it years ago, when it first came out, but can't find my download anywhere.
And the links in this thread no longer work, except steam, but that's DRM.
I also emailed WalkThruWalls a couple of times, but he hasn't replied.
Really would love to play this again.
